I am suspecting my significant other is having anal sex.

Good Morning,
I'm hoping my question will be answered but I do understand if not enough information is available. I am suspecting my significant other is having anal sex without my knowledge. In a squatting position, I couldn't help but to notice his rectum was protruding out of his anus, resembling a doughnut. Something I've never seen before.  I also felt it and it felt swollen. He was iffy about me wanting to see again in the same squatting position, but allowed me to. This time, his anus appeared normal to me as if he may be able to hold it in at times. Is this the result of anal sex?
