Is it bad to hold it in?

I hear rumors that it is bad for a male to not engage in routine masturbation.  I have also heard that ejaculating too much can result in harm as well.  Deciding to side with the lesser of two evils, I made a decision to scale my urges back to once per day, then it became once every other day, then once per week, and so forth.  At this point I have controlled my urges to where I only do it 2-3 times a month.  My reason for doing so is due to my hectic work/school schedule and being a single parent, so I have very little time for myself.  Also I have noticed that when I do ejaculate, I have a tough time recovering from it, and by that I mean I feel lazy and tired afterward.  I began to notice the after-effects of masturbating when my sleeping habits changed from a regular 5hrs. to almost 9+hrs.  It started to interfere with my daily routine, which is why I cut back so much, because I have missed a few school sessions due to getting up late.  If I fight the urge and decide to not masturbate, I feel super energized and great throughout the day.  I am writing this because I want to know if there are any health risks associated with not masturbating regularly, and also I want to know if the tired feeling that follows is normal too...thanks guys, any information that you could share would be great.

Hello,

I had recent blood work done and all is normal according to the doctor.  I take iron supplements every day because he told me that it's necessary for people who drink coffee on a daily basis.  I have some guilt when it comes to masturbation because my aim is to occupy myself to the fullest to avoid giving in to it.  I know this may seem irregular for a guy, but when I have sex thoughts it really interferes with my schoolwork.  Tantric sex, huh?  Sounds interesting...where can I learn the technique?

I would say that my diet is pretty much healthy, though on some days, depending on what kind of day it turns out to be, I eat very little, or even skip breakfast entirely.  I know that it's bad to do that, but some days it can't be helped.  But when I do eat, I make sure it is sensible and healthy...I avoid fast food garbage and processed foods because my body tries to shut down when digesting it, and for the rest of the day I feel like I have cinder blocks attached to my feet.  I minimize my intake on sodas and sugary beverages, but on certain days I feel like I need a mid-day boost.  As for the topic about the taste of semen, I don't know a whole lot about that, but all I do know is that when it comes out it smells like chlorine....and I'm perplexed by that.

In Tantric Sex, the aim is to NOT ejaculate and enjoy the pleasure of the feelings. You won't explode, you won't get blue balls, you won't drop dead.

It is normal to be sleepy after sex, or masturbating. The issue here is not that, but the fact you are now tireder than normal.  You say you feel great not having done it, maybe you are just putting too much guilt on yourself and ending up tired from it!

You could probably do with a full blood workup anyway. Even men can have low iron and Thyroid issues are one of the main ones which can cause tiredness.

You cant loose enough protein from ejaculation to have an effect.  Most people intake to much protein. Semen does contain proteins, but you have many different proteins in your system.  I know healthy eating can help sexual health.  And certain foods can make your semen taste different.  So if your significant other doesnt like the taste, change it. All is good dont stress about this.

Thanks for the assurance.  Yeah almost every night I experience wet dreams, and it's annoying because I sleep the best without clothes on and like a genius I run out and buy black bedsheets.  Hey is it true that semen is protein-based?  I have a crazy friend who thinks he knows everything, and he told me that when a man ejaculates, he will feel tired based on the kind of nutrition he gets daily.  I eat well enough, but I was told that I need to up my protein intake to compensate for the loss during protein strand evacuation.  Is he giving false facts, or should I take this into consideration so that I can make myself happy and go on with my day at the same time without feeling laggy?

The only risk i would face was needing to take care of business.  ya might run into the issue of having wet dreams, again. And tired from it, normal.  It releases endorphins and after they reduce, well ya get sleepy. Id say enjoy and tug away as long as it doesn't effect another person negatively, or ya get into trouble.  Normal is normal.  And i dont really think a normal exists.
