Is this really a uti or is it a std?

I'm a 34 year old male. I had unprotected sex in July and a week later Instarted freaking out. I had discharge so I went to the ER. I was diagnosed with a UTI but was also treated for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. A few days later the test came back neg for both.

I felt better after the mess but still felt guilty as for my encounter. It has since been 15 weeks since the encounter. I've tested neg for HIV and Syphilis both at the 3 month mark (neg). I was also just tested for HSV 2 via IGG, that came back negative at .14 at 14 weeks. (Is that definitive)?

However, my symptoms have never fully gone away. I have pressure in my lower abdomen and I went to quick care today. I was diagnosed with another UTI. Again, they are treating me for Gon/Chl.

Do I really get two uti's in 3 months or did the first one. It fully go away? I did have sex one time with my wife since the encounter but after everything came back negative.

Any thoughts?

Stick with a good primary care provider that can work with you through this.  Be honest with the provider and bring all of your results.  Also, ask that your wife gets checked by her Ob/Gyn as well because you feel "different" and want to make sure she is okay.

They should be sending regular urine cultures in addition to the gc/chlamydia tests.  Often doctors pressed for time just treat based on your symptoms, your age, and a quick urine dipstick test, which is often inaccurate.  Find out what the urine culture results were.  You also probably need to be seen by a urologist for other possible causes of your symptoms .
