Nick,

You wrote exactly what I wanted to write.   I too have pain above the testicles on the connecting tubes.   I was ruled out of all infections,STDs, Hernia, etc.  All the scan reports and other tests came back normal.

If you are having tenderness while touching, then it appears more to be an inflammation rather than a referred pain.

Epididmis is something closely coiled on top of the testicle itself.   If it hurts then the chances are it could be epididymitis.  It should hurt when you roll the testicles with the fingers.    I dont have any pain while rolling my testicles, the pain is somewhere little above and in my left inguinal area.

Where as the pain I'm having is something between the testicles and the base of the penis similar to what you have.    After seeing several urologists, chiropractors, orthopedics, I was finally referred to a neurologist who is telling we should look from a different angle, think about demyelination or somatization.

Has anyone knows whether neuropathy cause these pains?

I am 39 years old and for the second time in the past 6 months I have this constant pain and pressure in my left testicle. Its not swollen, however its smaller and harder than normal. I was first diagonsed with epdimitis 6 months ago, but I am not so certain thats it. I am going to a urologist next week for now my DR gave me pain pills and antibiotics. Any answers would greatly help.

Updates and developments

Not sure we all have the exact same thing but these are my thoughts on my own particular issue.

I do not pretend to know what I am doing I am simply running in the forest in the dark with my hands out in front of me searching for a cure. I do however troubleshoot complex computer related issues for a living so I think that helps me a little...

Most helpful things I am doing right now are as follows

1 - Massaging my butt and lower back on my left side, as well as my leg and thigh and feet. I believe I have tight muscles that are causing me pain. I first realized this when I went for acupuncture and a Chinese massage they took the time to press everywhere on my legs, butt and back and made me realize that there is pain when muscles are pressed on the left side (my butt, leg, lower back, thigh) but not on the right side. When I completed a few Chinese massage sessions I realized they were working out knots in my muscles and gradually relieving my pain. I highly recommend a professional Chinese and or some other type of deep muscle massage. Continue yourself at home or maybe get your girlfriend to do it. I use some hot oil and really try to work the sore muscles. Also try extra strength RUB-A535 (do not get this on or near your privates)

2 - After the massage take a steaming hot bath with 2 cups of Epsom salts (available at the pharmacy) ... Make the bath as hot as you can stand. I take a good book with me and spend about an hour in there but if you don't have the time a half hour or 45 minutes helps too. Maybe read the books a "headache in the pelvis" or "how to heal pelvic pain" or "trigger point therapy for myofascial pain" all available on amazon.

3 - Stretch... good advice and pictures with explanations in the book "how to heal pelvic pain"

6 - Avoid foods like chocolate, red wine, beer... additional info in "how to heal pelvic pain"

7 - Theories as to what some of us might have.. read up on pudendal nerve entrapment http://www.pudendalhelp.com/sitting.html , pelvic floor dysfunction, CPPS (chronic pelvic pain syndrome), basically I think I have tight muscles that need massaging and to learn how to relax again.

8 - Nerve block injection. I am working on trying one of these I have another appointment with a physiatrist

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physical_medicine_and_rehabilitation

http://www.pudendalhelp.com/Pudendal_Nerve_Blocks.html

9 - Avoid whatever you do that is causing you pain for me this involves me avoiding sitting as much as possible. Thinking of getting an ipad2 so I can lie on the couch instead of sit at the computer... maybe consider getting a laptop stand that you can adjust to accommodate standing while working.

10 - Search for the most comfortable clothes possible. I have over-sized nike jogging pants and hoodies that I love for around the house as well as over-sized boxer briefs from the gap.

11 - Itchy butt hole. I use calendula cream mixed with st johns wort oil and aloe gel. A little bit of each mixed together. For washing in the shower I use proshield spray, for wiping sometimes I use comfort-personal-cleansing-shield-incontinence-care-washcloths

12 - Take up yoga

13 - meditate, learn breathing relaxation techniques, go see a physio therapist specialized in pelvic floor dysfunction, cpps, or pudendal nerve entrapment links to some physio therapists that specialize in this

http://www.pudendalhelp.com/List_Of_PT%27S.html

14 - always focus on relaxing your tense muscles by will and practice... all the time.

15 - im considering going to see a chiropractor... some people say a good one can really help...

Beep,

I'm following you for several months, and your contribution to this community is immense.   Thanks for that.

I'm suffering from this same weird pain for almost 9 months now.   I was like a throw ball thrown between various specialists, from urologists, orthopedics, chiropractors and neurologists.    Lot of tests.. and everything came out normal.

Before this pain started I was doing rigorous running for 8 miles every day.  I stopped cycling exercise 2 years back.

I have the pain only on the left side of my body - left groin, left side of penis and behind left testicle with tenderness to touch.   I'm also having pulsing/dull pain in my left hand fingers and left foot and occasionally under left abdomen/left pubic bone.

Some doctors are saying it could be some nerve injury, and others say it can be an inflammation.    What about looking from other angle to get tested for Neuropathy, Demyelination, multiple scelerosis, etc..    instead of CPPS or PNE?

I have been having a sensative in my testicles the last 2 mths and on my mid hip area both sides I have to lay on my stomach with one leg bent upwards vice versa each side to not get full pressure on my testicles. I am temp out of work due to an injury lifting a bucket of water and something happened back there soreness from a strain on back; plus I believe a bulged disc was disturbed when I lay on my mid area back right side near the the disc feel uneven and it hurts and was magnified after doing physical rehab, but I also feel a sharp pain right side lower back. my doctor stopped the physical rehab and ordered a MRI I go monday evening. I went to another doctor about my tesiticles awaiting results from a **** test if it's bacteria related. I notice when I ejackulate the sensativity and swelling goes away for awhile but returns.       I was reading other post and someone mention NEUOPATHY which back in 2001 I started having symptoms in my hands/forearms tingling numbness weakness cramping feeling 24/7 and also in my feet burning feeling the feet went away after 6 mths-year but it remained in upper extrimties a doctor did various test including nerve conduction test and found delays and believe me to have Peripral Neuropathy couldn't work anymore try to get Social security but was denied everytime them looking at my age and outside frame to them I was healthy so after several of denials I was forced to go back to work for survival take care of my children working in constant pain I found Aleeve to be very helpful after like 2-5 years later that tingling, numbness and weakness almost disappeared but it remains mildly mainly it more when i actual do physical things and over the years learn to not focus on it so now out the blue my testicles started bothering me so it maybe linked to that neuopathy a progression but not sure. after all this time I still have a lawyer trying to get me back social security payments when I was out of work for 18 mths he appealed it to the federal court they remand it back to lower courts and he's been waiting almost 4 years but the case is still opened so he'll be glad to know if this was linked to progression of neuropathy probably can get me back money from 2002-2011 if he can prove it.

First your need to clear all the STD tests (for any bacterial or viral infections), and your urologist has to wash his hands and direct you to a neurologist who has to confirm you that you have a progression Neuropathy again which causing all these strange pains.  Your doctor is the best person to diagnose and tell you what exactly the issue is.

One orthopedic had asked me to get a prescription for Lyrica after consulting a Neurologist.   Lyrica is used for treating strange pains in nerves in various parts due to Shingles, Fibromyalgia, Neuroglia, etc.   However my neurologist did not prescribe me, asking me to wait.    Has anyone tried Lyrica for this pain/tenderness behind testicles?

Can someone confirm whether excessive running in gym can trigger Neuropathy?

Wow, and here I thought I was the only person having these pains! Mine is kinda funny because it usually comes after being active for a long time, or when I'm sexually aroused by a girl through kissing and touching or after the actual sex. And it's really an annoying pain starting from my testicles, groins and ends in my butt. Its usually painful when urinating. I'm just an 18 year old guy and it's been disturbing me for like an year or so! The doctors I visit just give me some type of medication which seems to take away the pain for a short while but it always comes back. And it really worries me. Is this some type of testicular cancer or something? Or is it a new disease which we don't know about and has no cure? Someone please help.

Hi all. Ive had this for a LONG time. I also have a LONG history of lower back pain and actually nerve impingment on the right side. Paradoxically, the pain is mainly in my left teste. I also have mild hip dysplasia, which is quite common in young men who start work early and/or during growth periods. I have recently had an L5/S1 decompression/fusion and the pain has subsided slightly (i have stopped Oxycontin and am only taking Gabapentin, to lower nerve sensitivity), I find exercise and core/pelvic floor physio helps immensely. Also i use trigger point therapy (http://www.accesshealth.com.au/massage-therapy/massage-tools/481/original-backnobber--ii/), the trigger point for the left groin/teste area is medial to the iliac crest press until you get to the ''edge'' of pain, you should feel hard string like muscles and tendons when palpating, if you do it is quite possible that the pain is reffered from muscle spasm/tightness, I am afraid hard work is in order to solve this. There is nothing more terrifying to a man than a problem with the tackle.
I am a Nurse, and have had experience in many fields (urology, orthopedics, physio, gastroenterology, community and mental health to name a few). The anxiety caused by this pain is as big a problem as the pain itself, try relaxation techniques and meditation (Tai Chi was referred to me by a former patient), the more you attend to the pain in the area the more sensitised you become to it, so what would be a small amount of pain normally is tenfold for people like us. It sounds hard, trust me, it f**king is, but i have hope and determination that if i continue on my path my pain will lessen every day. I hope this helps guys.
Cheers

I have had the same thing, it feels heavy on my lower abdominal, it comes and goes, and it usually comes back after i have had lots of exercise, if it hurts when i press on it, is that a muscle?? and if i keep playing on a injured muscle will it get worse?? i will get random pains in my lower abdominal, and sometimes on my right and left side, it stays for about 2 weeks and then goes away.. Have any clue what this is???

Hip dysplasia (mild) can cause the muscles on the side effected, this dysplasia causes the pubic symphysis to dislocate (yes it is as painful as it sounds), this is hardly diagnosed in men. Women dislocate their symphysis during child birth, but because of how our bodies are built it means males can dislocate it too. Mild dysplasia can be treated with excersise and regular osteopathic manipulation, to loosen surrounding muscles and tendons. I have found this helps, but there will be pain when the hip wants to return to the position it was in before relocation, hence the regular excersises and treatments, over time the muscles develop the correct "memory" and will keep the hip and pubic symphyisis in the correct position.
I hope this helps.

Has anybody had POSITIVE treatments for this ? because by the looks of it, its just temporary relief in treatments displayed on here.

i've been having similar symptoms less intensely, but amazingly the same. for a good year now. me being 20 this year.

having the flu or a bad cold, after sex, or being arroused for a long period of time, after a continuous amount of pressure has been put on my lower abdominal or bladder area (ie someone sitting on top of you..) , constipation enduces pressured pain, after sitting cross legged for too long.. even playing with the testicals... these all trigger unpleasant pains in the testis.. things like coughing and sneezing also aggrovate the pain.

if anyone has had a doctor, confirm them on what this is it'd be appreciated, knowing this is an old thread.

Also like to add, the pain that testis creates runs straight through my lower abdomin (abdomen), feels like someones pushing a pen into my stomach, about an inch or so off my hip bone this pain happens on BOTH sides of the body. both points of pain are about an inch off either side of my hip bone.

also i've had a rash, around where my testis touch the thighs while standing, on both legs.

im not sure if its related. but the rash gets itchy, and obviously itching it causes redness and flaking. but any help on a diagnosis for this rash would be swell.

My brothers, I am a 46 year old military guy, who started experiencing the same symptoms as most here, about 6 months ago.  I've seen US military and German doctors, who've done blood and urine tests, CTs, and ultrasounds and have found nothing.  It always starts with STD/AIDS checks, then infection checks, then everything else.  Bottom  line for me, from the German Docs was, "(W)e see this in alot of American Soldiers between 25 and 50.  Learn to live with the pain.  Use over the counter painkillers, or if you need something stronger, see your regular physician". Now, if that many US GIs in Germany are being seen for this, is it something caused by long-term exercise, and things like jumping out of planes and/or combat, as well?  I've previously been diagnosed with back issues, due to long-term twisting of the spine while wearing body armor, etc., and slow degenerative spine disorder.  Oh, and about a year or so ago, I was diagnosed with minor prostatitis.  My primary care physician is claiming it's epididymititis, but I don't buy it.  Seems like too many others here have the exact same issues I have, and it isn't epididy.  I guess I can live with the pain, if I have to , but I really don't want to!!!  I take various vitamins and supplements, some of which are testostrone boosters, so (not bragging) the boys work fine - maybe too good.  I can hold off for up to 3 hours (!) and at 46, shoot like a 17 year old.  It's just the chronic, nagging pain in the kidneys, left groin area, and lower abs that's driving me nuts.  I'll keep an eye on the site and keep all posted as to any changes or different diagnosis received.

So about a month ago my right testicle swelled up massively and i was bed bound for around 4 days. I am 21 years old and have had no previous testicular pains, but this hit me like a sledgehammer! At first I thought it may have been mumps, but after getting an emergency doctor called out I was told that it was more likely to have been epydidymitis.

A month down the line and my right testicle that had swollen up so badly now definately seems to have shrunk and im pretty sure that my sperm count has reduced too. I still get quite an aching sensation every now and again, and im really still quite worried. I did get reffered to the hospital for an ultrasound scan but it all seemed very slap-dash at the time, the doctor just shunned my comments about sperm count reduction when i asked him saying that: it shouldnt really be affected. The ultrasound scan did however show signs of scarring and damage from the infection that had occured.

Has anybody else had anything similar happen to them or does anybody have any advice that could help me?

heretolistenandhelp,

You are saying that you are having rashes and itch.   Have you cleared all the STD tests, especially Genital Herpes (HSV-2)?   Genital Herpes cause lesions, itchy rashes along with genital pains in testicles, groin and penis.

HSV-2 is highly contagious which can be acquired through a normal skin to skin contact with other person on the boxer region (between hip and little above knee).   Better clear all your STDs first.

There are several topics on testicle pains is running in the Herpes forum as well in this same Medhelp community.

BAD TESTICULAR PAIN FOLLOWING WORKOUTS? guys - i've been there. in my case it turned out to be epididimytis. it was horrible, horrible pain - the tugging sensation and just an intense, never=ending dull pain in my balls. It developed a day after performing a plyometric workout routine, this time I did the exercise wearing boxer-briefs rather than briefs, or, even better, a jock strap. I was referred to a urologist and given antibiotics. now I wear a jock strap every time I workout, play sports, etc. just to keep my gear from bouncing around and haven't had any more complications thank God. Look if you're suffering from this go straight to a doctor and get fixed up as it won't just go away. and if you don't already wear one, begin wearing a jock strap and avoid the agony. I've broken three bones, had several stitches, torn discs in my back and ripped different ligaments - and nothing was as painful or as miserable as this. Also should mention that my brother got the same thing after just frisbee golf while wearing boxers. we were both around 30 at the time. Doctors said it does run in families.

Hi, i have been having left testicle pain and ache for a month. I have been taking 3 different antibiotic over a month, feeling the same. Now i only take paracetamol, if there were bacteria, i think the period of antibiotics i took should have killed it, i guess?

I have epididymo orchitis and i only can relieve it by bed rest and massage on the effected source of pain. I have no idea how to cure it, any ideas from you guys out there?

Hey all I just wanted to let you all know what Ive been going through as this might help ease some of your minds.  I am a 32 year old male that has been have lower abdomen pain and also pain in my left testicle which has been going on for the last 2 months. So any way I went up so the hospital and got checked out. The doctor checked my groin area where the pain was and also checked my nuts with his hands.  He assured me that he could not feel any issues eg lumps epididymitis ok hernia. But this didnt ease my mind as I still had pain in my left testicle and my abdomen area so I asked if i could get more test done.  So the doctor refered me for blood tests and a ultra sound.  The blood test came back all clear so that started to ease my mind ( As usual I really expected the worst ) then the next day I went for my ultra sound and this found out the the problem was which I knew there was a problem. The cause of my testicle and abdominal pain was a stressed Inginal Canal in which I could of got during running and playing football. So at the end of the week where I thought I was going to die and all just turned out to be a stressed Inguinal canal which with rest will heal without any medical requirements.  So please I dont wish this upon anyone to worry Iike I did it was the worst couple of months of my life so please stop stressing and go and get it checked out it is very common in the sporting people for this to happen and most likely the same as what your having now. I hope this helped you all out.  Take care Scotty

I experienced dull pain in my both testicles and in a lower abdomen. I went to see a doctor and told me it's a UTI and prescribed some anti biotics. However, after 3 weeks it did not help. I did the ultra sound and all blood and urine test, they came up clean. In my case, pain is stronger when I sit, I do not have any problems when I walk or when I'm running. Any advice people? Please if you have something similar, this is driving me nuts!!!!

Wow guys, I have finally found people with the exact symptoms as me. I thought I was the only one.

I am 25 and have had this left testicle/left abdomen pain for about 3-4 years now. I have had very physically hard jobs in my life such as landscaping and cellar work and i never lifted correctly and I am a keen walker.

I hike alot and when travelling overseas I walked everywhwere and would get a pain that is like somone kicked me in the left nut. It was crippling but after a while would go away. I even remember a camel safari in INdia that went for hours. It was extremely painful, my testicles being slammed by the camel over and over and then the guy said lets make it run...sweet jesus that was the most painful experience in my life, but none of the other guys were experiencing this problem so I kept quiet.

Thats my brief background that could explain some of the symtpoms but I can't remember exactly when this started. Recently I have to quit my warehousing job because I was in too much pain, now I want a deskjob so that I don't have to experience it...only it still happens, which is starting to depress me because I don't want to live with this pain.

Over a year ago I decided to do something about it. I started by going to a GP and I was sent to have blood and urine pathology tested...nothing, all clear. Then I was sent for ultrasound and x-rays...absolutely nothing, all clear. Then I was sent to a gastro specialist and was sent for CT scan and Nuclear Bone Scan...nothing, all clear. Finally, I was sent for a colonoscopy and gastroscopy (honestly guys the prep is worse than the procedure, don't be afraid of getting it to diagnose problems), anyway that came back all clear. After all this my specialist said there is nothing more he can do and that I shouldn't come back, maybe he thought I was faking it.

Now I have been sent to a rheumatologist, haven't gone yet because it costs a bucket load of cash...and after all this testing I am starting to run out of cash and tolerance. I just want a diagnosis so I can't start treating this thing and not have to live in pain. I have been poked prodded, intruded and probed and I don't have an answer.

Which specialist can I go to to maybe be diagnosed with this Nutcracker syndrome?

Good luck to all you guys out there, I really hope you find the answers you are looking for. And for those guys who said they have lumps on their testicles....go and get them biopsied immediately! seriously a lump is not a good sign and can be only a number of things....none of them good, so please go see your doctor and demand a biopsy, time is essential.

Take care all

Just an update guys,

I found a lump the other day on my left testicle...naturally I freaked and basically ran to the doctors.

I got sent to get an ultrasound of my testicles to rule out cancer.

After a very anxious 48 hours, the results came back negative for cancer (Phew) but they did find that the lump was acutally a scrotolith. For those who don't know this a small calcified mass usually existing around the epididymis and is very common in mountain bikers.

Now, I'm not a mountain biker but painful memories of that camel ride have come flooding back and I think there is a link here.

Does anyone else have any info on this or has anyone been tested positive for scrotoliths?

This may be a lead guys...fingers crossed.

HI!

I too have had the same on and off symptoms.  I've had mine for about a year until I (seemed) to have found the cause.  First, I need to probably qualify myself a bit here, as I am also a physician myself.  So, have a bit deeper understanding of the human body... though my area of expertise is not exactly this... but I digress.

In short, I have a reaction to coffee.  I am fairly confident that I have a food intolerance to coffee (and to a smaller degree, other roasted bean foods.. i.e. chocolate).

Since I stopped the coffee, the symptoms have been LOTS better, and slowly improving.

Food intolerances can be to anything, due to "leaky gut" syndrome.  There are specific diets to follow to determine what you are "allergic" to.  (Allergic isn't such an accurate term for this, as an allergy can be potentially deadly... think allergy to bees, but in common terms, an allergy is a good way to think of it.)

Hi all,

Just to follow up on my previous post. I've still got my symptoms - generally a dull ache and some minor pain, which seems to be aggravated by activity. There's also an area around the tubing that seems to be the source of the pain, but nothing is showing up on the scans - I've had a second one recently which didn't show anything.

I've tried some nerve blockers - the idea being that they block out any pain, and they were awful! They literally put me to sleep and I couldn't' function, so I stopped taken them. They also didn't help with the symptoms I had for the week I did take them.

So the doctors can't really do anything else for me now, and are just saying it's some kind of muscle / ligament injury that will hopefully heal with time.

I've had it for nearly a year now, so I'm not thinking it's going to go away any time soon, seems like I might just have to life with it.

Hope others have found some relieve.

I've had pain on my RIGHT testicle, deep, dull pain.
It developed after rigorous exercise.
It has been like this for at least a good one month or more.
At first it was accompanied with lower abdominal pain.
Then constipation and occasional lower back spasm.

Noticed my right testicle is slightly larger than usual, not sure what it is.

Hello all I've been having similar problems. I noticed after masturbation once that I had an ache between my scrotum and anus. I stopped masturbation and that pain went away but an ache in my left testicle/groin area came. I also feel a hesitancy when peeing. Does this sound similar to anyone else?

I have been reading a lot about this and it seems like some people have had back problems that have caused this anyone else?

Hey guys, I might have an answer for you. I had massive testicular pain on the underside, a painful spermatic cord and inguinal canal area, pain at certain points of the pubic bone (I dunno if that's what it's called, but the very front of your pelvis above and around the base of your ****), pulled groin muscle and lower back pain. Additionally, I discovered later I had a very tender perineum area - not the skin itself, but whatever is able to be palpated when you push into it.

Doctor gave me antibiotics for the "epididymitis" initially, couldn't tell if they did anything. Over the next couple months, the pain was getting better but definitely still there and absolutely affected my quality of life.

I saw a chiropractor and linked her to this: http://www.prostatitis.org/pelvicepidydi.html

After she manipulated my pelvis, the ball pain went away. Yay.

Then my girlfriend came and we had crazy sex for the weekend, and now I can feel the nerve pain in my balls JUUUUST slightly. Possibly dislocated something again or irritated a nerve or something. Also, I found out that I have quite a few trigger points in my abdomen, which I discovered by pressing my stomach against a desk.

But yeah, after I saw the chiropractor my perineum didn't really hurt at all, whereas before if I pushed on it a little bit it was quite tender. I think that's a definite sign, if your nut hurts and your perineum is sore or your have that hesitating feeling when you pee standing up, your pelvis needs to be readjusted.

As for me, unfortunately I'm quite poor and don't have health insurance, so I have to wait to see the chiro again to remanipulate things back to perfection again. I'm also a 23 year old college student. I'm a normal guy. Just wish I knew what causes this EXACTLY. It seems to be a pulled groin that did it for me. It happened after I was squatting heavy weight in the gym.

What you just said sounds very similar to my situation. I was treated for epididymitis twice. What is strange is another issue I have which may be related. What happens is at night I start to have pain in my penis and it feels like the pain is in some tube. I would think that for the reason when having sex, pressure is applied against the penis and if I squeeze on it I have pain that goes from the penis to the scrotum. I start to have a feeling of gas in my scrotum and the next thing I know is Im letting out gas. I dont know if there is some backup going on and something got blocked from the epididymitis or what. But epididymitis comes back for many people as I have seen viewing many forums. The gas feeling is terrible and last for maybe 30 minutes, but I get a build up of it from the scrotum to the stomach and , Darn, it must be blowed out lol.

I have been going on with the same issues as all of you for about 12 years on and off. I am now 42 years old and this affects every area of my life.  Sex, concentration, wel being, etc...

I have an ache in my left Testicle almost constantly along with a burning/itchy sensation in my urethra through to the tip of my Penis.  It hurts when I pee or ejaculate. I am a mess.

I have been through most oral antibiotics, ultrasound, urine tests, blood tests, semen samples etc..  I have been told Hot baths, no caffeine, no alcohol and the pain still wont go away.

I am trying what I hope to be the answer in a few days. I have found a Dr. in NYC that does Prostate Injections to clear infection that is hard to diagnose and treat with Orals.    First he does a battery of Tests to confirm. However for the first time I am feeling optimistic. I have been dismissed by many Doctors who don't want to be bothered..

Wish me luck

I have very similar symptoms to you (for a year now).

Initially started out as a dull ache, but along with that I have lower-right abdomen ache, which gets worse during some activity.

There's also a very annoying pain when I press on the right side of the pubic bone - remains tender for a while after, but I don't notice this much unless I'm at the doctors and they prod it :) I suspect it's referring pain and causing the aches.

Thankfully going for an MRI soon, but no doubt it will come back negative.

The most success I've had has been with a sports-injury clinic. The guy there ruled out many things, and thinks I have a sports-hernia (or the start of one). To me this makes the most sense.

I think sports-clinics as well as chiropractors and osteopaths is the way to go :)
Blank
Avatar_m_tn
Also, with regards to what can cause the pelvic issue in the first place, my sports injury guy said a lot is todo with posture.

I have an office job, so am seated for much of the day. We aren't designed to be seated for such long periods essentially...

If it is related to posture, then it's just a case of being conscious about how you are seated (no funny angles, no hunching over/slouching too much etc), and of course taking regular breaks out of your seat.

I've also purchased a gym-ball and find stretching sometimes helps - I'll use it to improve my core stability, but to be honest I'm not sure whether I'll make the problem worse or not.

Hey guys.. Here is my history with this one:
Symptoms:
left testicle sore, slightly swollen, sensitive to rolling between fingers (only at times)
pain under scrotum- you can feel the muscle fiber in there
Highly irritated when sitting for prolonged times or when body is warm.
Scrotum usually in relaxed state
Thickened semen

Treatments:
At it's worst, I was diagnosed with epididymitis ochitis (spelling?), placed on high doses of antibiotics, nada. Yeast infection medication actually helped.

Full STD scan 2 times
ultrasound found the epididymitis

A few key points:
I work out 5X/week and was using supplements for energy aka bsn noxplode then jack3d. I read on a blog site the other day that jack3d causes the following symptoms:
decreased sex drive/ reduced staying power (it's not E.D. you can perform but you aren't what you used to be)
rectal pain/itching because you are seriously dehydrated and constipated (at a minimum, your intestinal lining is irritated)
Long term sitting feels like your skin is on fire and you simply cannot get comfortable.

These symptoms were noted by 5 out of 600+ posts so we're unique. As mentioned above, pelvic adjustment is highly possible (I just found a new chiro so i'm going today) caffeine allergy! or the additive they put in EVERY energy drink out there that reduces the crash effect of caffeine. The two guys who mentioned the jack3d symptoms reported back and said they were gone within two weeks. I'm 5 days into not using them and am feeling a lot better. Ditch the caffeine altogether and go see a chiropractor if you have tenderness under the scrotum.  Search for caffeine allergies, way more common than you would think.

Frequent urination/burning is either a UTI or STD.. go see a doctor!
Blank
Avatar_m_tn
Update:
Chiropractic adjustment of my pelvic bones (sacrum) instantly relieved all pressure/pain/discomfort while sitting. I have been drinking cranberry juice (organic, 100% juice, no added sweeteners) for the last week and the testicle discomfort is nearly gone. 9 days without using any energy drink and I'm 90% there guys! Even 1/2 cup of coffee increased my body temperature and the skin itchyness started to return while sitting. 99% sure I have a caffeine allergy.
Ditch the caffeine for 2 weeks and use cranberry juice or a mild antibiotic to rid yourself of the infection that is sitting in your seminal tube.

devang what medicine did the doctor give you... just curious?
these antibiotics CM-CEPHALEXIN CAP BLIS 500MG 20 are not working
and nurofon and antinflamitories arent working and nothings working
and im getting really upset and scared

it doesnt hurt to pee
it doesnt hurt to wank/have sex/cumm or masturbate
it hurts really bad after release of sperm/***/sex/masturbating/wanking but not after toilet
i have been going to toilet alot to pass urine.
urine is always clear no blood
on and off pain from left testicle all day and all the time.
uncorftable sleeping and sitting down, standing helps a bit
feels like its coming from left testicle and left leg and under scrotum, bum, left side near kidney and back
and sharp pains followed by uncortable dull pain and discomfort.

left feels different to right
left feels lumpy and veiny

doctor said feels normal when i went to gp
and hospital booked me in urgently and did
urine test, blood test, ultrasound and said no cancer, and its normal
they mentioned finding a small kidney stone in my kidney
but is that causing all this pain. left testicle.
i dont think so
could it be a kidney stone... or a hernia... ?
i was watching on youtube. a hernia pushed down could be it
but there is so much people are saying like testicle torson and
epididymitis, epidimal cyst, and cancer and vein stuff and i dont know whats the difference or what to believe
and when the gp/doc and hospital say your normal and you get stabbing pains and stuff in your left ball
and the right seems fine, you know there is something wrong, when its your balls your testicles nuts
whatever. you know when they feel different and hurt and stuff.
what can i do. what can we all do... ???
devang was talking about sonography... what is this and what does this involve. would this help ?
is there any medicine we can take that might help ?
would a xray help or be any different to a ultrascan or should we get a cat scan or what...
im looking for answers like everyone else on here. i want to help others and by helping each other
we help ourselves and help other people on the net. seeing this is the first thing that comes up
when you type into google. left testicle pain...(tags)
the left seems bigger or feels different to the right.
its weird tho because sometimes i get pain in the right but its usually in the left always.
so for example could be all day and night in the left. then for 10-20-30minutes in the right then back
to the left.
its like blood is blocked. veins are stuck or blocked or semen or fluid bacteria build up or something
and its trying to push back or forward something and its not working and the veins are overworking
or trying so hard and its getting swollen or inflamed or bigger or something. killing the cerculation
or ball or something im not sure because im no doctor but im looking for answers,
its not like i wanna go to the gp or hospital every day and night and say hey CHECK OUT MY BALLS
cause even tho i got balls to show my balls i dont like to do it because its a sensitive and embarassing thing
even tho i think im bigger then alot of other guys so my girlfriend says im big but this aint the point or question
right now i hurt and im in pain and it looks and feels different and my balls are more red and saggie then usual
and its really starting to make me depressed and wanting to end my life. jump off a cliff or something
cause no one listens or believes me or understands. thinks its all a joke. but hello this is stabbing me
in the left testicle...

last time i went to the hospital they said i dont have cancer for sure.
its normal and the balls are fine.
urine passed
blood passed
im healthy and normal heart bet and stuff
no blood in urine
any more tests we can do because this is a joke... they are missing something im sure...

sometimes the pain is not stabbing its so dull that its like a numb dumb burning pain like its hot
or burning its really bad feeling... anyone else getting or feeling this...???

liam868 i feel ya pain mate because the doc said the same to me
seen alot of genitals in my years yours arent much different but
i know there is a problem or something wrong cause its been
pain and discomfort and all the above for 3weeks now.

Guy's I have the same symptoms you are all describing but It's my right Testicle that seems to be feeling heavier and the cord seems to be having a dull but shooting/stretching sensation. It sit's higher than my left and might even have a scrotolith on it near the cord. I noticed it when I first started riding a bike to work a year ago. A year prior to that I got my back checked out by a chick at a healthfood store with a machine that measured each individual vertibrae through a computer. The disc that sits directly above my pelvic bone was off, the muscles on the right side were pulling and my left side was over compensating. i'm pretty sure this is the disc that's connected to this area but not 100% positive because I'm not a doctor. I got checked for the std's and everything came back neg. I'm 28 n have been working out n playing sports since I was 5. The thing that made the most sense as to why the dull pain in this area is on the right side is because I was a right handed pitcher all my life from LL to Professional baseball. My whole right side of my body is completely jacked up. 3 vertibrae out of allignment one in my neck, behind my shoulder and in my lower back. The pelvic re-adjustment sounds like a good thing so I'll have that done n let you guys know what happens after that. BTW the place that did this diagnostic body/spinal exam was a intern @ chiropratorincostamesa.com...Havent gone in though because i'm broke

Ok,

It's been 1 year since my symptoms started, and literally within the same month a year on, they are gone.

Symptoms (as I wrote above) were a dull ache, and a pain on the pubic bone (both on right side).

3 weeks prior to the symptoms going I did these things

1) Started swimming once or twice a week.
2) Brought a swiss/gym ball and started doing core exercises.

I have no idea whether this was the solution, or it's just timing.

My MRI scan has showed up something called osteonecrosis (completely unexpected), which can be caused by scar tissue (i.e. healing).

Hence my thinking is that these exercises did initiate some healing, but have actually led to this new condition.

Anyway, fighting that now, but the annoying initial dull ache/pubic pain is gone!

I sort of have the same thing going on. The cord (I don't know the name for it) to my left testicle seems to be swollen and it has been for about a year and a bit now. Its probably because last year when I masturbaited I used to hold in my ejaculation to avoid a mess since I was in my bed and I was too lazy to get up. Thinking nothing bad would come from it, sometime after i ofcourse did it again but this time it hurt and I noticed a swelling in the "cord". Its been about a year since then and a couple days ago I masturbaited and the pain came back for a moment and I noticed the swelling is bigger. All I want to know is how do I treat it? I don't feel like mentioning this to my parents cause its embarrassing. If someone could help me out it would be awesome. Thanks!

I have been having a great deal of success lately.

I haven't posted in a while. I have been collecting my thoughts prior to posting.

If you've read my previous posts you will know my situation and know that my issues are similar to many of you on here

My pain level varies between a 2 to a 4 currently, on a scale of 1 to 10. It used to be a 12

these things have offered me the most relief to date

- I bought a herman miller aeron chair... very comfortable (expensive but worth it for me... I can sit longer and with less pain now) http://hermanmiller.com/Products/Aeron-Chairs

- I found a new physio therapist specializing in pelvic muscle floor dysfunction which I found from this site http://www.pudendalhope.org/node/63 they have lists of physio therapists in the usa and canada.

- I have been seeing this physio therapist for about a month now

- I highly suggest finding a highly qualified and recommended physio therapist who specifically specializes in pelvic muscle floor dysfunction

- things I have been given to do. Just to give you some ideas.

- skin rolling on my inner thigh on left side (I'm supposed to do the right too... but I do it less) example starting at time 1:08 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFfSd3wf9B8 you do it up and down and side to side... they show back of thigh... have someone do that too but do inner thigh yourself. you can do it sitting with the leg you are working on propped up on your other knee (example for me its left foot resting on right knee when sitting) also they show it backwards in the video from what the physio told me. grab it as they show but roll towards your fingers not towards your thumbs. a baby's connective tissue is very soft and you can roll it very easily. check your thigh I bet its tight. the goal is to grab a good amount of skin between your thumbs and fingers and roll it out... as you do it it will get more flexible. mine felt like there were rubber bands in there under the skin or also like there was bubble wrap under there. at least 3 times a week

- massage your *** with a tennis ball standing up against the wall... massage around your anus and perineum (i do from the bottom up in a circle around the left and right sides... and all around actually... at least 3 times a week

- hot baths with Epsom salts (very hot, very long, very often) at least 3 times a week

- 20 mins of elliptical machine training 3 times a week (get a good stretch routine going before and after... ask the physio and or trainers maybe?)

- stretches... ill attempt to explain

- stretch 1 - lie on the floor completely flat on you back bend one knee and hug it with your hands into your body... get a good stretch... hold 20 or more seconds 3 times each knee

- stretch 2 - same starting position on the floor lying on your back, bend your left knee keeping your left foot on the floor, put the right foot on your left knee, now pull your left thigh towards your head... should feel a good stretch in your left ***/hip repeat other side... hold 20 or more seconds

- stretch 3 - arg this one is hard to explain.. ok so you lie on your back same as the other two... bend your left knee, keeping your left foot on the ground, keeping your right leg straight, now put your left foot on the other side of your right knee, take your right elbow and put it on the left side of your left knee now push on your left knee with your right elbow towards the right... get a good ***/hip stretch. repeat other side hold at least 20 seconds or more, repeat 3 times.

seriously go see the physio and get proper instruction

- anal stretches... going to sound weird but it works... I bet we all have a tight iliococcygeus or iliococcygeal muscle on whatever side is causing us pain... that's what I've been told anyways

how to do it... lube up your index finger on whatever side works for you... when standing put a leg up on a stool, insert index finger, contract anus muscle, relax anus muscle, push anus muscle, and now finally when you are at that point you push with your finger down at the 6 oclock mark and hold for 30 seconds. repeat at the 5:30 and 6:30 marks 3 times each spot.  30 seconds each... at the end of the stretch add a little friction with your finger like you are rubbing off glue on a desk or something for 5 seconds each spot.

im sure its not all 100% clear what I am trying to express but it might give you some ideas as to things to explore... again please consult a qualified physio therapist... your issue might be different and they might give you different exercises...

I spend 1 hour with her 1 time per week and she does all kinds of things, internal anal massage, skin rolling, massaging, trigger point release, leg and hip manipulations

hope this helps guys... im feeling much better and im sure i will continue to get better... one day i hope to say im pain free... and i hope that day is soon... im so freaking close I can taste it

Hi there,

Your kidney pain could be a result of the vitamins and boosters you're taking. These are all filtered through the kidneys. Stop taking all the supplements for a week or 10 days and see if the kidney pain clears up.
Blank
Avatar_m_tn
Read what this guy has said.  I have had similar issues and have used similar remedies which has significantly reduced the pain. The tennis ball in a sock against the wall works great for this issue and other back and shoulder pain. I purchased a book called Trigger Point Therapy on Amazon.com.  Although you are feeling pain in the groin, it is likely referred pain from muscles located elsewhere nearby. Massaging trigger points(I.e. muscle knots) on the inner thigh close to groin, butt and hip may help, plus exercising and stretches. Lastly, i purchased and expensive desk chair as well.  I first thought it was prostate, hernia or kidney stone.  However, two urologists and multiple tests said otherwise. I now believe it has to do with years of mountain biking, squats at the gym and/or sitting at my desk with bad posture all day.

Interesting, I play a lot of disc golf and this is happening to me.  It seems like sometimes the glands up into the abdomen region also hurt, but the most scary part is the shrinkage of the testicle.  I have HPV as well, and have seen pre cancerous growths in my throat.  I believe I have a high risk strain.  I know it has moved through my sexual systems, so I have been concerned that the HPV is linked to the oddities in my left testicle.  The pain is always dull, even in my lymph nodes, and only on the left side.  I will certainly be trying a jock strap in the future though although I never suspected this was being cause by them flopping during disc golf.  If that was the case, why only one side, and why the lymph nodes above?

hey guys....
I've had a varicose fixed and hernia in 2009 (I went to get checked out because my left testi hurt).. it was all good until dec 2010 when my left test hurt again, on the semen analysis it came out I had staphilococus on the sperm, had some anti biotics, felt good and after 1-2 months again, after more anti-biotics same thing, after 1-2 months same thing, went back and now I had prostatis...
been dealing with this for a year now... 2 months ago my left nut started to hurt again.... and now it goes to my lower back, kidneys and the left leg (which with the left leg is the same when you have a varicose, but got checked and i dont have a varicose)
ultrasounds come back negative, nut checks are OK... any suggestions guys?
i was told that i may have something (forgot the name) that is with my blood, that doesn't help me fight infections... nto sure because when yuou have prostatitis that blood work used to check that is off because of that infeccion...
one urologist did tell me that some men have to live all their lives with something like this..
has anyone actually been cured?

sorry no time to spell check

The testicles and lower abdominal region contain specialized tissues that aid in male hormone regulation and sperm production, as well as musculature and connective tissue that make up the abdominal wall. Abdominal and testicular pain can manifest as sharp stabbing pains, as radiating soreness or throbbing aches, and can develop as a result of a number of underlying conditions.

INGUINAL HERNIA
One possible cause of lower abdominal and testicular pain is an inguinal hernia. An inguinal hernia develops from a weakening of the abdominal wall in the groin region. The weakening often occurs at the inguinal canal, a small hole in the support for the abdominal wall through which the spermatic cord passes to connect to the testes. A hernia develops when this hole expands, and tissue protrudes through the hole. Men with an inguinal hernia develop a lump in the groin area that can extend toward the scrotum, according to Penn State University. The risk of developing an inguinal hernia increases in age and occurs more often in obese patients, or patients who have lost a great deal of weight. The treatment for an inguinal hernia commonly includes surgery to support the hernia.

TESTICULAR TORSION
Testicular torsion, the twisting of the spermatic cord within the scrotum, can also cause testicular or lower abdominal pain. The twisting of the cord cuts off the blood supply to the testicle and other structures within the scrotum. The result is an intense pain in one testicle that develops without warning, accompanied by swelling of the scrotum, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center. Testicular torsion also causes nausea and vomiting, and may cause a testicular lump or lead to blood in the semen. Men suffering from testicular torsion should seek immediate medical attention since lack of oxygen can eventually lead to tissue death.

EPIDIDYMITIS
Another possible cause of testicular and lower abdominal pain is epididymitis, an infection of the epididymus, a tissue connecting the testicle to the vas deferens. Epididymitis may develop as a result of bacterial or viral infection, causing swelling, redness, inflammation and pain, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center. Often, the infection begins in the bladder or urethra and migrates into the epididymus, so patients with epididymitis commonly experience pain in the testicles and lower abs. Treatment for epididymitis generally involves antibiotics to clear up the underlying infection, as well as pain-killing medication to ease the symptoms of the disease. If left untreated, the infection can lead to long-term pain.

I just experienced the same pain everyone, almost as if I had been flicked really hard by someone in my left testy. I didn't know how to control the pain so I sat on the toilet. Then nothing came out, I was worried that I had either testicular torsion or some sort of hernia. I danced around in pain and anguish for about 5 to 10 minutes, I lay down, I rolled over, I twisted my hips around, and even did some yoga... but nothing helped. I propped my torso up, grabbed my Android smart phone, got on the internet and started searching. I found this site after 10 minuets of pain... That's when it happened, I farted. I also noticed that I was a little dehydrated. If anyone is feeling like their testicle is being pulled down and squeezed and it's in the lower left abdominal area, here's my solution. Get a big glass of water, lay down and prop your torso up at a 60 degree angle, and put your legs flat. Start reading something to get your mind off of it, and take deep intermittent breaths. I fear that this pain for all of us men is nothing but a matter of time before it goes away and most likely has something to do with diet, digestion, and flatulence.

I am 43 and I have had 3 Micro-Discectomies on L5/S1 - the issue you all are haveing, in my opinion, is nerve related.  Vert# L1, S3, L2 is probably the area that need to be looked at.  I am currently having the issue and I believe it is due to my Tempurpedic mattress I spent 3k on to assist in back recovery....now the mattress is relaxing and not giving support as it did when new...DONT BUY TEMPERPEDIC.......
A neurologist is the doctor to see to resolve the issue....

GOOD LUCK!!!!
