Low Testosterone, body odor?

by eagle51, Jul 14, 2008 03:23PM
I am a 32 year old male and have had low testosterone levels since birth due to premature birth. I've fought excessive body heat and sweating, jumping (high/low) sexual feelings, and excessive body odor since puberty. Is it possible that all of this is directly related to my low testosterone levels? I've heard this is called male menopause. Is male menopause real? If it is then it seems I've been dealing with it since puberty. If these issues are directly related to my low testosterone levels/male menopause then, "how can I stop the body odor issue without Testosterone Therapy?" I've had Testosterone Therapy several times in the past but for varying reasons, none to prevent body odor. It's like going through puberty over and over, I refuse to do it again. Are there any other solutions that may help to prevent my B.O. problem?

I shower daily (15-20 min's), always use deodorants and even use cologne on occassion. I still get complaints from family members, co-workers and bosses (mostly females). I have often received gifts such as colognes and deodorants. Although most people try to be tactful, it is still somewhat embarrising.  What else can I do?

I happened to read about your problems to day.Its hard for me to understand that a low testosterone level should ocure with a certain odor.
On the contrary a high level of testosterone could give such problems.
Of course it happends that someone is in fact born with a low testosterone level, but then its mostly combined with other hormon problems..My best advise is to take a lot of blood samples to investigate any other problems than only your testosterone. If its combined with your hypofyse for instanse,it will be a solution to get injections with testosterone frequently
