Low Testosterone help

hello,

A little background on me: when I was young I had an operation for an undescended testicle which was clamped and or stitced into place? and subsequently I have that side underdeveloped.

Since my teen years I have been diagnosed with having depression with ocd and obsessive thought processes ( according to my drs) for which I took most SSRI's, none of them helped me in the slightest, while a couple of them got withdrawn as a treatment due to me turning more aggressive and more depressed which led to being arrestred multiple times by the police.

I got asked recently by my doctor do i get any morning errections or errections while I sleep? and quite honestly I didnt know the answer, if I do I think its a rare thing.

Over the years I have complained to my Doctors about symptoms such as:

Depression
Anxiety
Sleep problems
Low energy
Low drive/determination
Irritability
Hair Loss
Skin Problems

I also have excessive fat around my middle and chest but not on my arms or legs much, I workout at the gym 5 days a week but find it hard to lose any fat around my middle and I also get fatigued very easy, usually requiring me to fall asleep for 1-2 hours after to recharge myself...

Recently I have also become fustrated due to my fiancee not becoming pregnant, we have had unprotected sex for well over 1 year and nothing, of course the problem could be at her side, but I would put money on it being me that also infertile.

Since 2005 i have had 3 tests on my testosterone the results are as follows:

2005 - 8.9 nmol (range 9.0-29.0)
2006 - 8.6 nmol (range 9.0-29.0)
2010 - 13.4 nmol (range 9.0-29.0)

Each time I have been told by my doctors that my testosterone is fine and none of my problems relate to low testosterone, the latest blood test was taken since I started to work out with heavy weights while taking alot of supplements including: Whey Protein, Flaxseed Oil, Fish Oil, Tribulus Terrestris, Multi Vit , Vitamin C + Zinc, it was also a morning blood test, so it should be at its highest range?

Im at a very fustrated point in time, my doctors are refusing to retest my testosterone level or infact do a total testosterone blood test, according to them there are no grounds for it...

They have said they would send me for a sperm test but thats just one of a whole list of possible symptoms, one that I think is directly related to low testosterone but according to them it has no bareing on sperm count...

I also understand a guy in his 20s can expect an average testosterone level or around 21.38 nmol or 617 ng/dl while my very highest is a very long way off that score.

any help would be much appreciated.

thanks

Hey, thanks for the reply.

I have had thyriod tested in the past and was a normal range. my docs have just agreed to do blood work again for Serum Testosterone, LH, FSH, Thyriod, and CRP.

He did say I also had FSH in the past but again that was low-normal at 3UI? whatever that means. Im guessing all 3 of them will be low-normal (test, fsh,lh) not a great fertility cocktail?

I think i will take up the oppotuinity for a sperm test, it could well end up taking me in a circle back to hormonal levels but at least something might get done that way.

Hi,
Your testo level may not be the problem. Possibly the corrected undescended testicle  is not producing enough testo, but the present level should be good enough. From the point of view of fertility, sperm test may be a good idea, but, one year is short enough to worry about it. May be you should test your thyroid level as many of the problems you have may be related to hypo thyroidism. You should also take balanced food so that all macro nutrients required are got from your daily food. Avoid all fast food and soda. There is FDA published daily requirements of macronutrients which you can Google and get.
