It definitely sounds like a case of common recurrent 'Jock Itch', Get yourself some anti fungal cream or spray (preferrably one for Jock Itch; but the athletes foot kind will most likely work if you can't). Make sure to wash the area well with soap (gently) at least twice a day and make sure you dry completely (pat and air dry if toweling is painful). Apply the anti-fungal cream/spray twice a day (once after every cleaning) and be sure to continue to clean area and apply the medication for five days after the rash has disappeared. You should be fungal free in about a week, and in the future always take a shower after heavy sweating and be sure to dry thoroughly, moisture is your enemy :)

Hi John,
No, not at all,it is not very late,  as I told you, it could be some yeast infection, you can get it treated easily, consult a doctor now. Please keep us posted about your progress and here after do not keep any problem with your privates secret, since some situations are to be attended immediately, like severe pain in testicles, pain in penis etc. Undoubtedly your parents are your  best and experienced friends in this respect and learn to overcome any inhibitions to express your problems to them.

Hello John,
Happy New Year.
Don't worry, most likely it is a fungal infection and should go away with anti fungal treatment. But at 16, you should not do any self medication, especially with your private parts, consult a Urologist/Dermatologist and get proper diagnosis and treatment. Telling your parents is easy, just tell them that you get some irritation of the skin over there and these being common issues, they will easily understand and take you to a doctor, do not get embarrassed about it.
