My open crack does bleed and is extreamly painfull to the touch or when entering tub to soak.

Im an over the road driver and get this tear at the top of my butt crack,near the tail bone.It was so bad the first time I got it 10 years ago I could put my index finger into it up to the first knuckle.Im a female of 51 y/o.Buy the time I get off the road or scratch up enough money to see a Doc,I'ts healed over.I get this about 3 times a year.Alao mine doesnt itch!
I drove a city cab freightliner with air ride for 4 hours,and that started it to flare up again!!

I really couldn't tell you what it is. Many people who sit for extended periods of time, like truck drivers in particular, develop ingrown hairs on their behind which can become infected and cause a great deal of pain.. but so far as I know they aren't very serious beyond that.

Is it literally a tear? Like a cut or a crack running across your skin? Doesn't sound much like an ingrown hair if that's what it indeed is. It does seem like it has something to with you sitting and driving for an extended period of time so it may be worth getting checked out by a doctor. Even if its not visible you could describe it to a doctor and maybe they have some ideas. It definitely sounds like some sort of repetitive injury that's caused or exacerbated by driving for extended periods of time. When it "clears up" is it completely gone with no evidence of anything ever having been there?

Does it look like cracked, broken skin? Maybe some moisturizing cream would help? Also, try soaking in a warm bath with Epsom salts when you can. That might help keep the skin healthy and reduce the risk of any infection.
