Mystery STD

Mystery STD

Doc; I am female. I had not been sexually active for a few months.  No signs of any problems.  Previous partner was long term monogamous man. New partner, male, widower for one year, and sex with only wife for 30 years. I was his only other partner for past 30 years. We had vaginal sex without protection. After a few sexual encounters, maybe 3-4 weeks had gone by, my partner called me to say he had pus coming from the end of his penis and some pain at the opening.  I was then tested for HIV, chlamydia, syphillis (syphilis), gonnorhea (Gonorrhea), and hepatitis.  I was totally negative. His DR. arbitrarilly gave him some kind of antibiotic without any tests at all.  I was extremely embarassed and upset, and now afraid to resume a sexual relationship with this man for fear of 'giving' him something.  If I did give him an STD, and it was none of the things I was tested for, and given his symptoms, what might it be?

Well, you can't give him something you don't have. He either got whatever it was from someone else (despite his denial of other partners), or it's not a STD.

Still (and for YOUR safety), it's a good idea to always use condoms with all partners, at least until you're sure you're both monogamous (or only having protected sex with others) and have been tested for all STDs.
