Need Advice On Dorsal Slit vs Circumcision

Hi There, I'm new here but hopefully a doctor can help me with my problem:

I'm 20years old and around a month ago whilst having sex with my soon to be wife, my penis began to bleed (ALOT) and afterwards I got this intense stinging/burning pain around my foreskin, and when I urinate it's feels like I'm urinating through razor blades, which is more than uncomfortable. The next day I realised that the tip of my foreskin had gone hard (presumably dried blood?) and that parts of the fabric from the boxers I was wearing had became stuck into my foreskin, needless to say that it was very painful removing the fabric from an already sensitive area. Anyway it took just over two weeks to heal to the point where pulling back my foreskin didn't hurt anymore.

Then three weeks ago it happened again, in the exact same order, so I kept it clean and dry, then after THREE weeks, I went to the doctor and he said that I had torn my Frenulum (although when I look at it I can see that the whole diameter of the foreskin is bleeding, almost as if some of the skin has peeled of, leaving it incredibly sore), but that it was nearly fully healed and that it should be okay in a few days, so I waited a week before having sexual intercourse last night, and guess what..........I bled like a shot horse AGAIN!

Whilst I use at the doctors he suggested that if this kept happening that I should get a Dorsal Slit, now after doing some google searching I am getting mixed reviews, with some people saying that "the penis permanently looks deformed and doesn't look normal after a dorsal slit has been performed", and that a full circumcision is the better way to go, and others that are really against circumcision, claiming that it lessens the sensitivity of the glands.

So here are my questions:

What is my diagnosis?

Is it general anaesthetic that is used for the operations?

Is the surgery painful? and afterwards is it painful? to urinate? if so for how long?

What are the Pro's and Con's of both surgery?

What are the recovery times for both surgery's? (I've heard that it's very painful to move around after a dorsal slit as the glands are exposed and extra sensitive, I assume the same could be said for the circumcision)

If a dorsal slit is performed, can more problems occur as a result of the surgery because the foreskin could get infected?

How long is pain relief given after surgery? because I will have to go back to work afterwards

What pain relief is given?

Sorry for all the questions, I just need some advice before I make a bad choice.

Thankyou to anyone who is kind enough to help me....:)

Try and Google it. A search on "foreskin cuts" will give you of results showing plenty of questions, but no common answers. Could be a result of a fungal infection, could have something to do with a "frenulum breve" (short frenulum), or it could be due to some foreign substance getting inside the foreskin (like if you were washing it with soap).

When you urinate, does the urine come in contact with the cuts on your foreskin? I wonder if that may prevent them from healing. When you do have to pee, try retracting enough so that the cuts don't get wet. If the doc finds that a fungal infection is  to blame, there are treatments. For all I know, you could just go around with your foreskin retracted until the cuts heal. But I've got no experience here, so I can only guess at how to help.

Hi There, Thankyou ever s much for your reply! I have tried with the hand and it ooooooooooooooooooooookay if I don't pull the foreskin all the way back, and when I do try to pull it all the way back it's incredibly tight and painful. however I have managed to retract the foreskin and there are little slices/cuts on the opposite side of my frenulum, which I think are the main cause to the bleeding as these are the most painful.

Hopeful this picture will help:

part of me is just thinking about getting a full circumcision as at least afterward there wouldn't be any other problems, like what if they cut the frendulum and the skin is still tight and cuts again?

After it seems to have healed, before you try sex, do it by hand for a while so you can see if the usual motions are being too rough on it. Any tissue could be more easily torn if it hasn't healed fully, plus the inside of the foreskin is very thin and endures a lot of stress when being pulled back and forth during sex. You may need to wait even longer than previously before doing the horizontal mambo again - or just have her do something more gentle.

The doc you saw in person would give you better advice than any one of us over the internet. If you do go the surgical route, it might make sense to just have the frenulum cut, since that's what had been tearing.
