Odd cartilage in the side of penis

I've had this stuff since birth, not really been much of a problem or a worry.

But lately it's getting swollen a little and very irritated. I have to spend time squeezing it to get some kind of pus out of a hole in the skin. Quite painful, but right after it feels a lot better and the swelling goes down.

I'm not entirely sure what it is, I think its cartilage or something like it. Its visible just under the skin, moves easily, but doesn't cause any pain. I used to have 2 of the lumps years ago, but when I was young I somehow managed to push one out, still have a hole in the skin there. It looked just like a sunflower seed, just smaller and thinner. The one I still have seems shaped the same, even has a pretty sharp tip that cut a hole in the skin a long time ago. Other then it getting swollen every once in a blue moon, I don't have any other problems.
