Pain above the penis

Age 50 Male.

I have noticed over the past 3 days or so I have some slight dull on and off shooting pains that occur just above my penis at the base where the pubic hair area starts. It's not all the time just at random times I will get a quick shooting pain in the area. I do not have any problems with urination, no burning, no changes in urination habits, no fever. If I press on the area there is some very mild tenderness but nothing bad. I thought maybe I strained something but cannot recall doing any heavy lifting or nothing. Could it be a mild UTI but I have no pain in the back by the kidney's and no burning sensation when I urinate. I am perplexed what it might be and should I be concerned?

Any ideas what it could be?

Did you sleep on prone position, putting more pressure on the base of penis? this could be one of the simple and obvious reason.

Not a UTI. Hmm I'm not sure what to tell you except if it doesn't resolve soon, continues or becomes worse then go see your GP. Does it feel swollen or tender in your groin area when you press against it?
