Pain in hand after impact

by chechem, Jun 29, 2007 12:00AM
I was wondering if anyone could help me. I went 4 wheeling about a month and a half ago, and took a spill. I took about a 6 foot jump, not planning on it, and landed kind of hard. What took the brunt of the force was my left hand. After the accident, I waited a while and my hand hurt. It felt stick and was hard to move a couple fingers. It didnt feel broken, wasnt swollen, and didnt bruise. It is now a month and a half later and it still hurts. I had the doctor check it out and she said nothing looked serious. Theres not brusies or swelling or any marks. When I push on the top of my hand, and twist it or move it with pressure, it hurts. I was wondering if my bone could just be brusied. It seems when I massage it or work through the pain it feels better. Any suggestions?

Sorry I am not an expert at all but wanted to mention that I injured my hand by boxing without gloves and even though definitely nothing is broken or bruised, I have not been able to twist or move that hand without pain for about 3 weeks.. It feels somewhat stiff. So I read up about it and there seems to be something like joint fluid build-up and/ or inflammation after impact that is similar to arthritis and can lead to such permanently. Has an X-ray been taken of yours? One and a half months is a long time for the pain to not subside. If it is not bones it can also be torn ligaments or a rupture in the material that surrounds you joints. Get it checked more thoroughly.
