Anyway, mine went away for a while but came back again.  I noticed it started after I was moving a lot of heavy stuff.  I think it may have something to do with my groin muscle since I pulled it about a year ago I think I aggrivated it.  The vibration may be acting up because of that and the muscle discomfort seems to spread to the head of my penis.  Anyone else have this problem?  I went to my urologist and all sonogram results were negative and I'm sure I'm clear of any STDs.

I've just stumbled upon this thread and although I don't have anything really helpful to contribute, I am experiencing this too. It's happening right now. Kind of in time with my pulse but I can feel it right now and it is definitely real. The sensation is so slight I notice it only when I am completely relaxed, like lying on my bed contemplating my next wank. (I'm recently single but not looking further than my hand). I am a heavy drinker but after reading the previous posts maybe I'll just carry on drinking, while, at the same time, keeping one eye on this thread.

I am convinced that there are many causes but that the sensation comes from pressure on the nerves that serve the groin/scrotum penis. In my case the pressure is caused by a swelling at the point in the spine where the nerves to the penis area pass through. I like many of you found very hot baths to help but did not by themselves "cure" the problem. I read a post by the med student who suggested chiropractic. I went and had x rays taken as well as a thermography analysis then an adjustment. The xray clearly showed the inflamed area at the point the nerves passed to the penis. The combination of heat and spinal alignment have all but eliminated the problem entirely and the chiropractor said that it will take about 4 weeks for the swelling to diminish completely and all symptoms should cease by then. I am convinced that is the "cure" as today - three days after my second spine treatment, I am experiencing only very mild, very short sensations for only a few times during the day - primarily when driving on a rough road or walking during which any vibration seems to set up a "sympathetic feeling in my penis. I urge you all to see a competent chiropractor who takes x rays before treatment.

Any updates after your chiropractic adjustments?

Hi Everyone,

I have found I have this exact symptom (spasming penis) if I ingest caffeine.

When I discontinue caffeine consumption (avoiding tea and coffee) for several weeks, the spasming stops. But as soon as I consume caffeine, the spasming starts again.

I have noticed this with other muscles after consuming caffeine. For example, my eyelids start spasming if I consume caffeine for a few days in a row.

There’s another variable thrown in. :)

However, check out other possible variables if that doesn’t work. It may not have the same cause in all of us.

Take care and good luck.

I think i found a CURE!!!!!

Ok.. I have been on this forum and read everything... about 5 weeks ago it started..annyoing the hell out of me.. i cut 5 hour energy drink , i did drive 8 hours prior to that day and that could have triggered it.. who know.. but what i do  know is last night as usuall it was buzzing like it always does (for the last 5 weeeks !!).. so i decided to open a bottle of wine  and  take  a BATH not a shower , but a bath!! .. i had pretty good buzz.. and the water was HOT..now i stress it was borderline  unbearable hot..but i sucked it up and stayed in the bath for 20 minutes.. my Nuts were loose  and i was just relaxing.. anywho.. after the bath..i had sex with my wife (lasted about  25 minutes ) and went to sleep ..woke up this morning.. nothing???? no buzzing nothing!!!!! it has been 9 hours so far and nothing.. i know its premature.. but its completely GONE!!.

Now guys .. is it a coincendence?? i really dont think so!!!  My thought is that the HOT *** WATER..  loosened up or  did something.. to whatever muscle was causing the vibrations!!!

PLEASE IF YOU ARE STILL DEALING WITH THIS.. TRY THE HOT BATH FOR 20 MINUTES OR SO.. make sure the water is as hot as you can handle without burning yourself!!   and just to eliminate any other doubts.. please either jerk off or have sex with your lady .. im just trying to give you the steps that worked for me!!!

I hope this helps

I just started experiencing the vibration and couldn't believe my eyes when I googled it and discovered others with the same symptoms. I visited my Dr and he asked me what I had read online. When I told him nothing difintitve, he changed demeanor and became concerned. He explained that an aortic blockage could cause this sensation as there are blood vessels which split from the aorta and travel in the direction of the genitals. He asked me to pay attention to see if the sensation occured when walking fast, or uphill. Neither seem to cause the problem. Sitting does. I noticed it laying on my back in bed last night. And yes, it seems to happen with  a pulse beat. I still don't know, and I don't know IF the aortic suggestion is valid... but perhaps we should all find out. He WAS / IS concerned, is all I can say. I am 56, about 5'6 and weighing in at 185.

My boyfriend was complaining of the same thing it has him worried so I googled it and found you have the same thing. I did notice that heavy lifting can make this happen and he does work out alot so that can be a cause, also I found that urine track infections can also cause this feeling and I have just got over a bladder infection and could have given him a infection from having intercourse. I hope its the heavy lifting. As a precaution I would have your Dr. check your Urine for a infection and that way you can get a antibioic and take care of it.  Good Luck.

I've been having this vibration sensation for the last three days in my penis.  I've been assuming it has to be some kind of nerve-related, hysterical symptom.  But nonetheless I started to wonder if anyone else had experienced something like this.  So I typed penis +vibration on google and ended up finding this thread.  It's a strange vibration -- when it occurs, it feels like I'd be able to put my hand to my crotch and actually feel vibration -- which of course isn't the case.  Sometimes the vibration sensation feels almost like I'm leaning up against a pipe with water flowing through it, so in other words, a very slight moving vibrating sensation.  Does this match anyone's experience?  I chose hungryforlunch as a screen name because it is literally lunch time as I write this and I'm quite hungry.  And oddly enough, I don't know if it's sharing this online or because I'm hungry...but I haven't felt the vibrating sensation since starting to type.

I'd be appreciative to hear from anyone else who has experienced this and would like to know if it's anxiety, nerve related.  It seemed that's where one contributor to this thread was led after many exams, etc. turned up no sign of anything wrong physically.

Having exactly the same symptoms as stillcurious with vibrating sensations from left pelvic area down to legs and (rarely) to hands.
All examinations including MR, CT scan, Angiography were negativ.
However, symptoms are still worsening, mostly when immobilised like standing/sitting. Have you any clue how to improve them, or did you find any website that helped?
Thanks in advance

The first thread is still around (though closed), you can find it at:

The second thread got removed because someone posted their personal information and requested it to be removed.  For some reason, they could not just erase the post, they had to delete the whole thread.

Anyway, I will give a little update about myself.  I ended up having some pretty severe anxiety over the whole deal, and had a lot of other issues pop up.  It is hard to say what were actual symptoms and what were just brought on by anxiety, but what started as a vibrating sensation in the penis migrated to various vibrating sensations throughout the pelvic floor, down the legs, in the feet, and less often, in my hands and face.  Several primary care, urology, ENT, and neurology visits, an ultra sound, a cystoscopy, a CTScan, and 2 MRIs revealed nothing abnormal.  I had some digestive problems that had been coming on slowly the whole time, to the point where i was having loose stools/diarrhea for 2 months straight (3 1/2 months off and on).  I seriously thought I was dying of something - even lost 20 pounds throughout the ordeal.  Also had a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy to see if we could find out what was going with my digestion.  Still nothing.  Along the way, I had been prescribed various antibiotics, antifungals, and muscle relaxers - all as a precaution, not the result of any clinical findings, and all ineffective.  Also was prescribed anti-anxiety (Lexapro) and Nexium (they found some GERD-related esophogitis).  The last two seem to be making a difference.

For the past several weeks I have been feeling much better.  I have not felt the original obvious buzzing in over 2 months.  But I do occassionally feel very slight remnants, although it is usually so slight that I cannot tell if I am really experiencing it.  Truly, whatever buzzing I feel now may have been there all along, but I just never noticed until the flare up a few months ago that made me hyper-sensitive to it.

I noticed awhile back that heavy lifting did seem to have an effect, but it hasn't been the case lately.  I did some heavy lifting a couple times over the last two weeks, and it has not had any obvious effect.  Working out also used to trigger the buzzing, but has not lately.

Despite all my efforts, no breakthrough here, but at least I am content for now.  Before my symptoms exploded and eventually resolved, I was leaning towards this being a manifestation of Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome, Pudendal Nerve Entrapment or something like that.  But since I have improved, I am just trying not to think about it much.  So good luck with everything.  Keep us posted, and I will try to do the same  :)
