Persistant groin odor

For the last couple months I have noticed a musty odor coming from the creases of my groin and under my scrotum.  I noticed is a very slight mucousy patch in parts of my groin creases. I also have a very small rash not even a half inch in oval shape on my inner thigh.
My girlfriend I have been active with has a history of overgrowth of bacteria inside her, and seems to bee present again.  Her doc said it might be bacterial vaginosis.  She has been eating a special kind of yogurt that seems to be working so far.  Is there anyway this bacteria might have caused some kind of specific fungus in my groin creases? If so what kind of treatment do you recommend?  Typical jock itch creams only seem to target very specific types of fungus. So far I have tried terbin antifungal creams including Terbifinide Hydrochloride cream 1%, Lotrimin Ultra, and a liquid soap called FugiCure which has tee tree oil in it.  They all seem to treat symptoms of typical jock itch which I do not have so I'm wondering if I should try something like Clotrimazole because none of those other things have really worked.  My doc also prescribed Lotrisone cream to fill after I gave Clotrimizole a shot.  Does Clotrimazole or Lotrisone sound like more of what I need to try?

this helped with the stickiness, and not just the odor? I am definitly willing to give it a try though, because my quality of life is really suffering and it will not go away!

well guys, I've figured it out. You know how when girls use a douche to clean their vagina's or odors?

Well, go and buy a simple one (hear me out!!).

Go buy a simple one, an unscented on like the vinegar and salt one.. take of the cap.. take the cleaning liquid and scrub your crotch area. Let it marinate for a second and then rinse and wash as you normally would in a bath or shower.

Hope this helps!!

could be entirely normal...as we get a little older these odors naturally occur....do you shower every day and thoroughly wash the area...perhaps some products in the drug store applied after showering would also help.

On a side note I went on vacation and the stickiness/odor thing was not noticable.  When I got back it seemed to return. I'm not sure if its from my towel, anti-bacterial soap I use, or something like that.  I just wonder if it is yeast, although I have been told that I would have other signs like painful urination and things I don't have.
