Piercing pain and burning in urethra since 8 months, HSV1 positive

Dear Dr. HHH,

I am a 32 year old male and married. My wife does not have any STD. Both of us are monogamous. In March 2016, I got a severe UTI with fever and chills. My urine also smelt very bad. Incidentally, I also had a major ulcer in my mouth inside lower lip at the same time. These symptoms came a week after my friend had a big ulcer/sore on his lip and accidently coughed on my mouth. I never had UTI before that. Since March 2016, I have had UTI thrice which is very painful and is extremely burning. My urologist did urine test. The results showed negative culture and positive pus cells each time. I took antibiotics for 10 days and disodium hydrogen citrate syrup to ease UTI symptoms. I got urine test at least 5 times since then. Since March 2016, I regularly have pain in urethra, which comes and goes. Sometimes, I also got very cloudy urine. Since July, I have not got UTI but started to see other symptoms. I got brownish urine twice which looked like blood in urine. I also felt pain during ejaculation. Then, I got tested for all STDs namely HIV, HSV1, HSV2, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea and Syphilis. I got HSV 1 and 2 tested twice to be sure (IGG and IGM both times using enzyme immunoassay). I only got HSV1 positive, all other negative. The HSV1 IGG value was more than 20 both times. My wife and I do not do oral, so HSV1 may not be related to urethral pain. On my doctor's suggestion, I got abdominal pelvic ultrasound, semen culture and uroflowmetry test done to rule out stones or prostate problem. Everything came out to be normal in these tests.

Currently, I get piercing pain in urethra, which is severe on some days and bearable on other days, but it is not going away. It is very frustrating and I would be extremely grateful if my following queries in this regard can be answered:

1. What is causing this piercing pain in urethra over so many months and how can it be cured?
2. Can HSV1 be its cause? Is it possible to get HSV1 by sharing food with someone who has sores?
3. Can it be interstitial cystitis(read about it on internet)? If yes, how can it be tested and treated?
4. I got Gonorrhoea and Chlamydia tested by Urine PCR. Is it possible that the results are false positives given these symptoms?
5. Can it be any other STD like mycoplasma genitalium etc? There are no tests available for other STDs in my country.
6. Can it be prostatitis? Although my urologist isn't considering that because of semen culture and uroflowmetry test being negative.
