Question for Husbands/Fathers

by Jules_za, Oct 02, 2006 12:00AM
Okay, since we are asking the men questions I have one (or two).  I am about to have my first baby and am really worried about what my husband will think if I end up being unlucky enough to get tons of stretch marks.  Do there really gross you men out, or are they generally not an issue?  And what do you think if you see them on a woman who is not your wife?

BTW: I have the worlds greatest husband, without a mean bone in his body.

Okay, this question wasn't directed at me (I'm a mother of 4) but I will give you my own experience. Both my first and current husband (and boyfriend after first marriage and previous to second marriage)simply saw this as part of the "territory."
Neither seemed to think or even flinch when seeing mine. Mind you, I have an awful lot. I had two children with my current husband but didn't get any new marks...I had previously been stretched to the max (marks even made it to the back of my calves). lol

Over time, the stretch marks will fade to a silverish/skin tone color.

I have never heard a man bothered by these marks. With age comes experience, understanding...and none of it seems like a big deal. If it isn't a big deal, they simply aren't noticed that much.

I've had my marks for 15 years. I don't notice them, only my 'roo pouch. lol

It'll be interesting to see how the men respond to this question.

i'm not married or a father, but i asked my sister, who has
scaring on most of her body from a car accident. she's
never been happy with them, but gets through life just fine.
she had the scars long before she was married and it never seemed to make her any less attractive to her boyfriends nor does her husband now seem to mind.  so i guess normal everyday stretch marks should not be such an issue. as a single guy i would not really care about stretch marks if i was attracted to a girl who had them. it's a small thing to fret about.
good luck with the new family !         l.e.

whewww, i got to many stretch marks!!! I got them on my stomach all the way up past my navel! :( But they do fade! And now i'm getting some new ones even past the old stretch marks, i am even using the stretch mark cream, whewww. but my exhusband use to tell me that it symbolized the growing of our daughter, aww.
So i believe your husband will have no problem with it. :)
i do wish some men would respond to this question, it's a good one for them!
