Red Bump on Shaft of Penis

by NJDave, Dec 30, 2006 12:00AM
Married Man, with the same partner for 10 years.  Recently shaved my public area, and in the last day or so a red bump has appeared on the under side of the penis.  Doesn't hurt, doesn't burn.  I hadn't noticed it til wife mentioned it to me.  I fell that it might be a ingrown hair or something like that.  Not sure what could have brought this about other then the shaving, which is not a normal activity for me in that area.

Just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem like this?  If it doesn't clear up in the next couple of days I will make an appointment with the doctor.

Thank-You

Sounds like inflamed follicle from shaving (folliculitis).  You can try applying bacitracin to the spot and that may clear it up.
