Red spots on head of penis.

by mkd86, Feb 13, 2007 12:00AM
This is the second time this has happened in about 2 months now and it always happens following sex.  About a day or so after I get small red spots appear on the head of the penis in numbers of around 20 or so.  It is fairly itchy and usually just goes away after about a week with no side-affects.  They red spots do not have any liquid in them and no ulcers are left behind but I am still very worried and self-onscious about these.

Does anyone have any idea what they might be? I'm worried it's herpes but aside from the itching there are no other characteristics present.  Please help.

Try to see a dermatologist for Inverse Psoriasis. I get it when I stress too much or too much masturbation. Honestly. If it is, it's no big deal.

I'm not too sure if it is psoriasis, it doesn't look like any of the pictures i've seen online.

You should see a dermatolgist 24 hours within it's appearance next time it happens.  That is the only way you can come close to a conclusion.

It could be a yeast infection. They can be passed to partner. The same otc cream works on men as women. The heat and rubbing from sex could be irritating it and keeping it coming back. Monistat or other generic cream applied to the area may get rid of it. After symptoms are gone, still need to treat for a few days. That is IF it is yeast.

i agree with tina, does sound like a male yeast infection. you are probably uncircumsized. try to air out after taking showers. i know this sounds funny, but try to blow dry it with low heat. fungus survives in dark and moist warm places. this should work, then apply otc medication or just dry.
