Scrotal mass?

Scrotal mass?

I've had what I believe to be a cyst located within my scrotal sac for well over a year (my memory is not clear as to when I first noticed it). I do know that it has remained at the same size or gotten bigger for at least the last year.

From reading online and talking with a few people I believe it is a spermatocele/epididymal cyst. At this point it is just as large as my testicles and has the same shape. It is on the left side and will ascend to where it is not noticeable when I sit or lie down but descends to slightly above my testicles when upright.

I was told that they go away naturally but it is not. Like I said, if anything it has gotten bigger in the last year. It is large enough to be uncomfortable during sex, some physical activities, and during everyday life and sometimes causes a dull pain (though rarely). It is also embarrassing. I don't think any women have noticed it but I'm constantly worried about avoiding attention and too much pressure to the area.

I'm kinda broke now and don't have insurance but I plan to go to the doctor, hopefully within the next month and will inquire about surgery. I don't like the idea of surgery, in that area especially lol, but I REALLY want this thing gone. I'm just posting here hopefully for some advice and support. Maybe it's not what I think it is? Anything you can tell me about the surgery and any sort of alternate treatment options would be much appreciated.

Thanks
