Hi. I am a 44 years old male. I have had stomach issues my whole life. I went to my doctor complaining of the problems which were worse. I have been trying to figure out if I have specific food allergies, etc. I am under a lot of stress currently with my job, etc. The doctor felt it was IBS and also gave me a "stool" test. I just received a call back from the doctor's nurse on Friday. He said the test came back and they found blood in my sample. It is not visible by the naked eye. He said the doctor wants to send me for a colonoscopy. I have a few questions. How accurate are these tests? Is the colonoscopy the best next step or should I take another "stool" test first?
