As for chewing tobacco, a link to cancer is not at all that certian as many think (and the doctors let us believe). In Norway the authorities decided to remove a warning that has been posted on chewing tobacco for decades, namely that chewing leads to cancer. After years of research, scientist have yet to prove that it leads to cancer. (The warning is still posted on cigaretts, though.)
Your chewing might have irritated your lip and caused a swollen gland, but I doubt it is cancer.
Good luck!

Could be an ulcer due to the chewing/dipping, or worse. ANY mouth sores that show up with a history of tobacco use should be checked. And yes, QUIT picking at it. The infection that drains goes into your mouth and then when you swallow, you have just introduced the infection to your entire body. So leave it alone and see a Doc. E/N/T (Ears/Nose/Throat) Specialist.
Good Luck.. Sorry to be so negative, but don't want to tell you not to worry and then have it be something serious.

Yes, go to a doctor if this doesn't clear up very soon insurance or not. You can get oral cancers from chewing tobacco. Stop messing with it, too.
YES WHO_IS_THIS IS RIGHT! CHEWING TOBACCA WILL DO THAT. I HAVE AN UNCLE THAT HAS CANCER THANK TO CHEWING AND DIPPING. IT ALSO COULD BE A CANCER SORE AND WITH YOU IRRITATING IT, YOU WILL ONLY MAKE IT WORSE. I KNOW, I DONT HAVE INSURANCE EITHER, SO I KNOW YOU DONT WANT TO HAVE TO PAY THAT EXPENSIVE BILL. BUT I RATHER BE SAFE THAN SORRY. DONT WAIT TO LATE, IF YOU GO GET IT TREATED NOW, IT COULD SAVE YOU MOUTH. I KNOW THIS IS NOT WHAT U WANTED TO HEAR, BUT IT IS THE BEST THING.
BEST OF LUCK
not having a spleen can hinder your ability to fight infection. if you can pop it, it probably doesn't have anything to do with chewing. nevertheless, you should probably talk to a doctor if keeping your chew in a different part of your lip and taking a multivitamin (to boost your immune system) doesn't clear it up in a week. good luck to you.
I dont really have much of an answer for your question, but just knowing you "chew" (even sometimes) and also that you have a swollen puss thing going on inside your mouth is a reason to think about quiting. Good luck and hope you get your answers.
