Two weeks ago I was laying on my bed on my computer, and I experienced a sudden, somewhat sharp pain in my right testicle. I didn't think anything of it at the time because every once in a blue moon, for as long back as I can remember, I'll have a shooting pain in that area, but it goes always goes away. This pain was slightly more dull, though, than those usual shooting pains. The next day I noticed that there was still a general discomfort in my right testicle, which has continued for two weeks. The pain is not intense, does not interfere with any of my daily activities (including masturbation), does not feel particularly worse after sitting for extended periods of time or after exercising, and does not seem to affect my urination in any way (although I think that, generally, I urinate a bit more than most people -- but I also drink water almost exclusively).
The pain is dull, as if it's just smarting, and it's very difficult to locate. Sometimes it feels like it's coming from the testicles (it's migrated to both sides), but I'll examine them and can't find a particularly sensitive area. I've also noticed that my lower abdominal area feels slightly cramped, and, over the last couple of days, on my right side, near my hip bone, I'll feel a sharper (but, again, not that sharp) pain that feels like it could be coming from a specific tube. In fact, over the last few days, I'd say the abdominal ache has been more pronounced than the testicular one. But regardless where the pain seems to be coming from at a given time, it's always difficult to say exactly what the source is.
I spoke to my doctor on the phone about it, and he suggested the usual sorts of things that I'd already read up on online (like epididymitis, general groin strain, prostatitis, etc.), but that he obviously couldn't make any kind of diagnosis without seeing me in person. He suggested I take 2 aleve twice a day for 4-5 days. I did that for 4 days, and my symptoms did improve, though they didn't disappear completely. Today they've returned to much of what they were like before the aleve. I'm going to see my doctor on Tuesday, but I wanted to see if anyone had any input here. Based on some of what I've read, I thought maybe it could be a pinched nerve.
I'm also very nervous that this could be prostatitis because I've read that this chronic disease afflicts individuals with high stress levels, and I certainly have that. But I'm also quite young (only 23). Again, the pain isn't severe, just this dull, smarting, discomfort that seems to radiate up to (or perhaps down from) the abdominal region.
Does anyone have any thoughts?
Many thanks in advance.
I think most likely, you have no health issues at present, it is only an early warning for a futuristic problem. Essentially I feel your long time sitting posture seems to be the main problem. If you do not sit erect with back support while working, it could produce neck pain, pain on the upper abdomen, pain at mid back and lower back and testicular and groin pain, as stress is produced in these areas. Over a period, you may end up having cervical spondylosis, acid reflex, lower back ache, inguinal hernia, testicular problems and piles.
All these can be avoided if you do some regular exercises to compensate for the stress created by the sitting posture. Ensure to change the posture often while working and do some stretching and leg up exercises , which will also ensure better lymph flow. If you can find a good Yoga teacher, and practice yoga, it will be highly beneficial.
Vitamin D deficiency, will show up as many health problems. Best thing to do is to expose your body to early morning sun for about twenty minutes daily if you are living in a sunny region. On week ends spend some time in outdoor activities. If this is not possible, code liver oil supplementation may be considered after consulting a doctor, as these oils come packaged with both Vit A and D. But these are fat soluble vitamins and gets stored in the fat tissues and excess can harm your body. Interestingly, both fat absorption and absorption of fat soluble vitamins A, D , E and K are aided by the lymph system and therefore, improper functioning of the lymph system can deprive the body of these nutrients.

- a wild goose chase for a similar health issue. But in any case tests done have ensured that there is no basic health problem for the person.
