Testicular Pain

Okay, a 13 year old friend of mine apparently got shot in his private area with a BB gun of some kind, and now he's having recurring pain, nausea, and minor swelling of the testes. He said there's no discoloration or obvious bruising. I'm wondering if he should be seeing a doctor or not. I suppose he's a little too embarrassed to tell his parents about it, so I told him I'd try to get some info and get back to him. I'm just curious if this is something that probably needs medical attention, or if it will just go away.

(A little explanation)
I'm 18, I know this boy from an online game that I play, and he lives 3 states away from me. I told him he should tell his parents, but he wouldn't get behind the idea. He at least said he'd think about it if the problem persists.
I offered to talk to his parents for him, but I don't know if it would make any difference to him.

Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

iv been hospital for check up on something like this but i damaged it during sleep . it may just be Epididimites he should just tell his parents it shouldn't be that embarrassing then the doctor will just examine and give a brief idea

Is the swelling ( actual swelling or liquid)

If its liquid it is known as Hydrocoleo

there is nothing be worried about it can be sorted by antibiotics/ anti inflammatory

He will probably be given and ultrasound to check for torsion , which can be twisted of the nerves which will lead to a minor surgery .

Thanks, but I think it's done with.

I don't THINK it penetrated the skin, I have no idea if it was a direct hit, and I think the pain has pretty much gone away.

Questions, questions. Was he hit directly in the testicle? Did the BB penetrate the skin? There is a condition called tortion of the testicle (the testicle spins around on its cord and the blood supply gets cut off) that is the result of trauma. This is serious and could result in the loss of the testicle if not taken care of. I've seen it happen from a seemingly harmless injury to the groin. Pain, nausea and swelling are some of the signs.

You need to encourage you friend to tell his parents. He can email me directly if he's too shy to ask about it.

Umm... I THINK it's only been about two days... Maybe a day and a half? He didn't tell me exactly when it happened, but he said something about it yesterday. It was tonight when he told me it was really bothering him though.

how long has he had the pain/swelling for? If it doesn't go away within a week a doctor is a MUST!
