Too much porn/masturbation cause ED?

Hi I m a 28 year old and suffer some degree of ED in recent. I start masturbated since I m 19 and usually use porn as a form of visual stimiulation. I have observed that I have lost the ability to maintain erect during intercource or I only get weak erection. My question is: does masturbation in association with porn will "exhaust" my interest towards sex and create a negative impact on my ability to get aroused in real sex? I m worried cause I think I m still young to have physical cause  for ED. Any thought?

Hi Sammy I am wondering if you have masturbated at all during your recovery process. If you have, how frequent, etc. I masturbated during my recovery, but I had a plan to eventually stop masturbating after about a month and it worked. Eliminating porn and anything sexual online was the key to my recovery. I just masturbated to anything that popped in my head. After about 30 days, there was no fuel for my brain to masturbate to, so it really lost it's luster. Don't get me wrong, it was very hard not to watch porn, but in some aspects it was easy. And I mean easy to walk away. There was about 10 instances in those first 30 days where I had to walk outside or start doing excersise. But once I walked away, I thought to myself, wow, I can't believe it was that easy to walk away.

I had a lot of great sex before I became addicted to porn. I then became addicted, lost my erections for about 8 years. But when I completed my full recovery ( about 100 days, 30 days of just masturbating to anything in my head, and 70 days of no masturbation) I was able to get my full erections back. It was like being born again. Research say's that if you had regular normal sex before a porn-induced ED, then you should be able to recovery within 60-90 days. And It was spot on.

I advise other men on other forums of my recovery process of masturbating to no porn for 30 days, then after 30 days, no masturbation at all. See I must of tried to heal myself about 20 times before I was finally able to do my recovery with the 30 days, then 70 day recovery. Thats why I ask if you have masturbated during your recovery. I will try and be on the board at least twice a week from now on to help encourage all our brothers who battle this. Guys, I battled this addiction for almost 10 years! Before I finally beat it. If you have any questions, feel free to address me on the forum or send me a private message. I would even be willing to speak with you on the phone as I have with other members who seek advice.

hey thanks for posting again to let me know the discussion is still alive. I have been reading here for  afew days and was thinking about posting and telling my story but wasn't sure if it was still going because no one posted in a while.

I am 37 and have been masturbating to porn since I was in my early 20's on a regular basis. multiple times per day. I was introduced to porn at a very young age. around 3 or 4 even from a neighbor boy and it was something that got my attention. I only got to look at it at friends' houses off and on until in my teens when i would get a hold of magazines and a few videos. then when getting internet is when the addiction really got out of hand. I didn't notice anything wrong until pretty recently. I've never had problems with getting and staying hard and never had problems with a girl until the last girl I was with a few months ago. I just couldn't stay hard. when she used her mouth it was ok but when i tried to enter her it went soft. tried this a few times with her and every time was the same story. I started doing searches if too much porn/masturbation can have an effect like that and I found this forum. so thank you guys for sharing your stories. I am convinced that I found the cause of something that made me really scared because i have never had problems with it until now.

I am on my 5th day now of no porn and no masturbation. soon I will be taking a trip overseas to meet a girl that I met online. we have been talking for a while and she seems really nice. I really wanted to do what I can even for the short time before meeting her. I have not had good morning wood since I stopped the porn and masturbation which i read is normal from articles written by doctors. the first few days were pretty difficult to get past. but I am very strong willed so I refused to do anything because the problem I Have read should only be temporary until the brain gets wired back to normal. not sure how long it will take with me. but today when I was talking with the girl who I will soon meet, we did talk about some naughty things a bit and I got pretty excited. it became rock hard for at least a short time until we changed the topic. after we were finished talking I noticed that my balls were sore. wow. I never thought I would say that I was glad to get blue balls... but this was my first case of it in 16 years or so and it convinced me further that I am doing the right thing by stopping this destructive behavior.

hopefully there will be some positive results to report once I come home from my trip. I know it doesn't happen overnight and I'm not expecting it to. but I am really looking forward to get rid of the cause of the problem and be able to function normally again.

thanks again everyone who has posted. and wish everyone have success in their recovery.

Hi all,

There haven't been any posts lately so I thought I'd try to inject a little bit of life into this thread !

I met a girl just over a month ago and we have been having sex regularly. It's a no-strings-attached type of relationship. She is sleeping at my place again tonight. It's the first time in my life (I'm 30) that I have a regular sex partner so I'm really happy about that, and I think she is helping me to recover, because the more I sleep with her, the less I feel like looking at porn. I have been very successful at refraining from porn.

My sexual performances have improved but I still feel like I don't have enough libido. Still, I am getting more and more frequent night and morning erections, but again it's not systematic.

Anyway, all in all things are pretty positive and I hope they will improve to a point where I can get erections from just looking at or kissing a girl, and maintain one even with a condom on... I want to be 13 again ! lol

Be encouraged Sammy.  I started out in the worst way.  Porn and masturbating since age 15.  Married at 28.  Was a virgin when I got married so the only experiences I had was with the women on the screen.  Honeymoon was a nightmare and marriage almost ended before it really got started.  Was about 6 months before things were really ticking.  That whole time, I didn't even have a desire for porn.  Unfortunately, after getting things working the way they should, i started to dabble again.  Bad move.  Now, I have my moments where I'm fighting to keep it up with the wife.  Add in a rough patch with the marriage, and sex is not very frequent.  That means I've been spending more time with the girls on screen again.  I'm finally more fed up than ever, and am very determined to kick the addiction once and for all.  The stories from you and the other guys confirm that my problem is definitely porn.  I will use you guy's victories as encouragement to keep myself diligent.  I pray the best for all of us to be free from "The Addiciton".
