Trembling and twitching in the legs-calf muscles?

Trembling and twitching in the legs-calf muscles?

Like when I try to flex my calf muscles it stays contracted (doesn't release like normal) more longer than usual? This hurts when flexing my calf muslces. Also, my calves always seem to twitch/tremble all the time.

My left eye on occasion twitches as well now.

Again, my legs are constantly twitching and they seem sore always.

Lab results/blood work:

My B12 (mine's 340; should range from 110 low to 1040 high) and homocysteine (mine's 8.2; should range from 3.8 to 11.4 high) are in the normal range.
My thyroid TSH (mine's 1.9; .3 low to 3.5 high) T4 (mine's 5.4; should range from 3.5 to 11.5) and Free T3 (mine's 220; should range from 180 to 620). My cholesterol and blood pressure are normal. My white and red blood cells are normal.

The only thing bad on my blood work was my ferritin (Iron) was low (mine's 20; should range from 80 to 420).

Keep in mind that these ranges are set by the lab I use so I know that each lab has different numbers/results.

I don't know what else I can do; I've tried taking/supplementing some Iron with no improvements.

Any advice or suggestions?

thanks kindly,

Dev

Hi,Sounds like you may have low Potassium level. You also may have low testosterone level that can also cause shaking and trembling in the muscles.Check back with doctor on these things.Good luck.

I would agree with 'complete' on this as I've experienced similar symtoms (symptoms) that would disappear (or not appear at all!) when I include a banana in my diet, every other day.

It seems, as far as I know, the only way to acquire the 1000mg of potasium needed on a daily basis, as supplements, for some reason, can only provide about 100mg...

Good Luck!

Oh and I posted my lab results above because I thought maybe I was low in B12 and had a thyroid problem but with all (except ferritin/iron) my numbers are in the normal range I don't know what the cause for my problem is?

I'll try to eat some bananas or supplement potassium and have my testosterone level checked.

Thanks,

I forgot to mention that I'm 5'7" and 159 lbs in weight. I've also tried supplementing with calcium & magnesium but no improvements.

My legs/calfs are worse at night.
