Water blisters on the bottom of his feet?

My step-dad is 34, he has had recurrent water blisters on his foot for the past 24 years. He gets them and he said they don't hurt, they itch like crazy.. He pops the blister and in a couple days it goes away, but then it comes back in different spots.. I was wondering if anyone knew what causes it? It only occurs on the bottom of both of his feet.. Not on the top & he always wears socks or boots. never barefoot or flip flops.

Hi Michele, Is his skin really soft, that could be his problem, he may need to get his shoes/boots off as soon as he gets home and walk around bare foot.
He could try hardening his souls try brine and urine 50/50 mix, sounds disgusting but its an old remedy, but will work, this may help him.

He wears work boots and BLACK socks... But he has always worn those kind of socks before the blisters started at the age of 10..

They are small blisters, but when he was 10 he had a really big blister and they popped it, that's how all of these got started. Yes, he does wear work boots, but at the time when he first got them he didn't. He drives a tractor everyday... So he's not technically ON his feet all the time.

Hi, Michele, What kind of footwear does he use most, trainers, work boots, what kind of soles are we talking about, and are these small blisters, or large blisters/

Blisters usually come from a fold in the sock, rubbing in an irregular way on the foot.  Or a place where the sock has a hole, or where the leather of the boot is rubbing harder than other parts of the foot.  What about the fit of his shoes?  How good quality are they?  And his socks?  He would actually be less likely to get blisters if he went around in flip flops or barefoot.
