What could tingling on scrotum be?

I had sex 2 months ago with a girl who said she is clean. I was in a pool for 6 hours straight drinking before that. The day after I had tingling on scrotum and then anus for about 2-3 days. I was achy already from drinking the 3 days straight before. It has been two months and the tingling is still only on the scrotum periodically throughout the day. To be clear, the anus tingling only lasted about 2-3 days the week of the encounter. I noticed my scrotum was red and red bumps. I went to a doctor and she said it was definitely not herpes and she has seen it many times. She said it was most likely a fungal infection and to use lotramin. I started using it for about a week and the tingling subsided significantly but still came throughout the day. I noticed that it usually happens when my legs are pushing my scrotum together or I am sitting for a period of time. She said the tingling could be caused by the fungal or something totally different but that herpes does not tingle for more than a few days without lesions. So I am confident I do not have it but wanted another opinion. It has been 2 months and my scrotum tingles periodically throughout the day but nothing bad. To be clear also, My penis did not tingle and nothing felt wrong with it whatsoever, like it never hurt to pee.
