I was recently hospitalized with vomitting and diarrhea. Prior to the hospitalization I was feeling malaise and had a blood test which came back which showed infection that the nurses at my GP told me, would "take time to heal." Later that week I was hospitalized and the hospital blood test results (according to the ER doctor) said that everything looked normalNormal saline flush. When I followed up w/ my GP he said the original blood test showed a possible viral infection but the hospital blood a few days later showed a possible bacterial infection. They then took another test to see if everything had returned to normalNormal saline flush and it did. What could the tests have meant? My doctors were very unclear despite all the questions I asked. I am sexually active and when I hear that a blood test shows an infection I immediately think the worst. Help me out anyone with some advice.
