does anyone test their PH ?

by leif ericson, Sep 10, 2006 12:00AM
there is a buz on the net about alkalinity, and i wanted to know
if anyone had experience with the whole PH issue.  i have a friend that HAS to test for diabetic reasons, and she gave me some of those strips (you use your urin to test) and i was lightly alkalin.  i don't know what that means, but the health sites claim it's important, they say cancers can't exist in certain ph's.         so has anyone done this ?

i so respect your taking charge of your health but i cant help but feel maybe your going overboard in this trek for perfection. ya sure its great to read up on the newest ways to maintain optimal health but i worry its becoming an issue or an obsession. please dont take this wrong, i just want you to know that you cant control everything in life or what may or may not happen.

I gotta give you two snaps for your persistence!

Though you are looking for people who test their ph (and I do not), I have to say that your urine ph varies depending on what you've eaten, medicines you take, vitamins you take, etc.  It really has nothing to do with cancer.

As I've said before, you can find virtually anyone extolling the virtues of anything, on the internet.

But I give you kudos for your research and devotion to your health.

No *reputable* health site would ever make such a claim. You have to be selective and careful what you read/believe, because there is an unbelievable amount of **** on the internet. The truth is, there's no secret formula for good health. If you want to be healthy, eat a low-fat, mostly vegetarian diet, don't smoke, and get plenty of sleep.

thanks for all the feed back, i was just curious !
i'm NOT all that freeky about the health thing, but all the health "stuff" out there gets my interested. i know alot of it is **** and lies to sell products, but i don't want that to keep me from knowing simple helpfull things to better my health.
all you have to do is look at this nations overall health to
see that we need to do better.  this forum is a cool way to
find out what others are thinking.    thanks    l.e.

p.s. don't be shocked when i come back with another question !

from what i found out recently, NO health site can say anything
about "curing" cancer.   THAT WOULD BE A CRIME !

the government won't ALOW anyone to say ANYTHING about cures
unless it's a "drug", thats how they keep control !

but does that mean it's not true ?   i don't think so.

thanks for your input, and i agree, there's alot of bull on the net.  l.e.

I'll apologize in advance, because I know this is going to come across as being very critical. But it's not directed at you personally; in fact, many (probably most) of my friends would agree with your viewpoint. However, I totally don't get this paranoia and the conspiracy theories about the government/drug companies/doctors. Following your logic, if there really were a "cure", wouldn't they PATENT IT ALREADY and be making fortunes off it? Where is the benefit in denying its existence? The folks who make and sell this alternative stuff are the ones who are really behaving unethically. They're making a killing off misleading people.

as hard as it is for most of us to lose faith in the government
when it comes to our health, i think things aren't all they should be.   have you ever heard the saying "follow the money" ?
i think the greed factor coupled with over population issues
(a real concern for any government) have created a system that
supports the hording and missleading of health information.
do fast food places put addictive ingredients in the food to make people fat so they will eat more ? can anything other than a government sanctioned "drug" CURE you of an illness ?
according to the government, vitamin "c" can't cure you of
SCURVY !  it would be ILLEGAL for anyone to sell "C" as a cure,
but it IS the cure for scurvy !
                                       l.e.

p.s. thanks for caring enough to respond, you might be right,
but i'm getting more and more skeptical of what the government
is doing for us.  ARE they working on a cancer cure ?
my dad could of used one !!!

by who_dis, Sep 11, 2006 12:00AM
Leif,

I'll quote you:

"according to the government, vitamin c can't cure you of
SCURVY ! it would be ILLEGAL for anyone to sell C as a cure,
but it IS the cure for scurvy !"

I'm afraid you are wrong about that.  Vitamin C is the completely legal, prescribed cure for scurvy.  There is nothing illegal at all about someone being told to take it to cure scurvy.

Anyway, good luck to you on your battle for good health.  Whatever happened to the apple cider, the distilled water, or the Stevia?

thanks for the correction !  i bet if scurvy was a "present"
health issue there would be an EXPENSIVE drug (with lots of
t.v. adds) that have negative long term side effects. i don't
think anyone would be able to claim "vitamins" as a CURE !
thats my opinion of course. but your right, i should have done
a better job with the analogy !     thanks        l.e.

p.s.  i am attempting to try a mix of green tea with a little
raw applesider vinager sweetened with stevia ! haha
so far it's pretty tasty. i will see if it's healthy at all,
in due time, i'll let you know. i'm off the cola's and chemical
sweeteners at least.

When you get the formula down, you should patent it.  Call it

LEIF'S GOOD HEALTH "LEAF" TEA.
