dupitron contracture (viking hand)

dupitron contracture (viking hand)

i work as a dental technician constantly using my hands for percision work also using high speed grinding equiptment, I SUFFER WITH Dupitrons contracture (pardon the spelling) and have had todate 3 operations to straighten my fingers due to the lumpy nodules forming on the tendents of my fingers .Would my line of work be a contributory factor to why it keeps reoccuring , I am 41 years of age and have been told it is very rare in a person as young as my self . Please can any one advise.

I don't think they really know what causes Dupuytren's contracture, but I'm pretty sure it's not a repetitive motion injury like carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, etc. Are you diabetic? Do you have hepatitis? Anyone else in your family have it? Those are some of the risk factors...
