ejaculatory pain

ok, back ground, I am a male 22, 6' 195lbs, and am in pretty great health. My problem is this,
I have gone for periods of time in the past without having an orgasm or being sexually active. Never more than 6 weeks, but the issue is when I go for longer than a week,  when i break the streak, it is really painful when I ejaculate, and for about a half hour after ward remains painful, My penis, testicles, and the whole area around it has an almost throbbing pain and it feels like I should defecate and urinate , but i don't need to. I have noticed the longer the span of time I go without sexual activity, the worse the pain is.last time was about a month, and the pain was almost unbearable. It gradually lessens each time subsequent, and the fourth time I ejaculate within a couple days, the pain is gone. Is this a normal thing for some men? I have read some horror story's about similar things of men going for longer periods of time(nine months or so) and having to have their prostate removed. this scares me because (I won't go into this very deep) for religious reasons I will have to go for much longer than this soon. as of right now i have "been good" for about 6 weeks, and am wonder what I should do. please help.

This is a classic symptom of type III (non-bacterial) prostatitis.  Check it out in this forum and/or in other websites.  Good news is, it's not going to kill you.  Bad news is, it tends to get worse over time.  But the best news is, some things help the pain.  Like Mac said, hot baths help.  Also, prostate massage is an incredible help.  And as you've discovered, frequent masturbation helps.  I have type III prostatitis, and do these things.  They definitely help relieve the symptoms.

I can relate my man.  I too have the throbbing after ejaculation. Sometimes I can't really call it pain, but like you say a dull throbbing in the prostate and rectal area.  I too have the urge to have a bowl movement and 9 times out of 10 I do.  Then, I have to masage my bladder area by pushing in until I urinate.  Other times i have to sit down, usually on a hard surface before the feeling disappears.  At times it has taken hours to calm down.  I don't go as long as you without sex, but I get the same effects afterwards.  I had the MRI, the colon scan, etc, but they don't see anything.  My prostate is normal too.  Try long hot baths, they usually help soothe it, but I have been told I just may have to live and cope with it.  Hit me up: ***@****
