freckle on penis

About a week ago, I noticed a small dark brown freckle on the end of my penis.  It is only about the size of a head of a pin, but worries me because it has never been there before.  It is flat, and pain-free.  I am 22 years old and not sexually active, though I do masturbate some.  Is this a problem?

I havent been sunbathing nude, and that is another reason I am somewhat worried.  I know they can form other places on your body, but I thought it was usually due to the sun.  Is it common for a freckle to just appear in that area?

Don't worry.  You will probably get more with age.  I have numerous freckles on my penis.  The strange thig is that as I was growning up, I got more and more on my face.  I had very very few as a an adolesant. Now I am 38.  While it is true that the sun brings them out more, they come any way. Sit back and enjoy the ride.  Some women will like them, some will think your wierd.  It's a part of the body and it is natural as far as I know.

hi to 126 et al.  I noticed the same thing when I was over 40 years old.  Just appeared.  Went to the doctor, sent to dermatologist, said it was "Benign Penile Melanosis".  Nothing to worry about and NOT STD.  They don't actually know why it happens but rest assured this (what I have) is not transmissible or life threatening.  Must go to your own doc of course and not take this as med advicer(disclaimer).  Yes it does give a worry but could be nothing like me.  ps. get yourself informed and then your girlfriends will be happier too
