Do you mean sperm production or semen production?  To know that your sperm count has dropped in half, it would take you having sperm counts run at a doctor's or a lab, twice.  If you mean semen, there could be a lot of different reasons, depending on your age and circumstances.  Why not consult your doctor?

Hi,
There is one isolated article which says that melatonin supplement can interfere with sperm production in some people. Since you find that you are getting affected, you may reduce the dosage and try, or totally stop it for a while and get tested to see if it improves.
Did you change your food habits of late, like changing from non-veg. to veg. etc.?,   since zinc and follic acid together when taken is supposed to improve spem count. So, if these are lacking them in your recent food intake, may be it might have affected you, and not melatonin.
