swollen lymph node

by pinetopfirefighter, Jul 17, 2008 09:53AM
I (37 y/o healthy male) went to the ER on Monday after discovering a very painful, swollen lymph node in my left inguinal area ( no other lymph nodes are swollen, no fever, feel fine otherwise).  The doc ran tests (blood count, urine) and everything came back perfect.  He thought it might be related to a nasty, painful bug bite on my upper left hip buttocks, and a tick bite I got a week and a half ago on my right inguinal area.   Anyway, he put me on 2 different antibiotics, and told me to keep an eye on it.  Well, the swelling has decreased a bit and is no longer painful to touch but the whole left groin area is still very achy.  I guess the question is, could all of this be related to an injury rather than something else?  I recently started driving a tractor-trailer and have been straining my left leg while using the clutch (all day long).  All of this just seems to be more muscular.
