ways to prevent baldness

Hi, I'm almost 16, and though I haven't started balding, baldness seems to run in our family and I surely will be a victim some day. I'd like to take all preventive measures possible to stop or minimize this from happening. I get good nutrition and sleep and stuff (and even try to shampoo less than normal), but is there more I can do? Start using mild Rogaine perhaps? Any natural remedies that actually work (my mom always tells me to put egg yolks in my hair, which is probably good for the hair, but surely can't prevent balding)? Thanks for your help, I hope there's something out there that at least might possibly help.
