worried about weird left testicle/epididymis

I am 18 years old, for as long as i can remember i have had a weird mass above my left testicle. Or an enlarged epididymis or something like that. It is sometimes small and unoticable then other times much bigger. It is rarely painful, and very concerning but since it has been like that all my life I tend not to think about it. Can anyone please help me? Why is it like that? What is it?

I know how you feel i have been scared **** less for awhile about mine but don't be alarmed its called varicocele and its is common in men between the ages of 15 and 35

Also look varicocele up on yahoo the images will ease your mind

It is harmless but you can have a surgery that does away with them

Also varicocele is most common on the left side of your scrotum which is where mine is also and i have had it there sense puberty.

Also you will find that it is most noticeable while standing...when laying down it all but goes away
