Another Paxil question...

by BPB, Aug 17, 2001 12:00AM
I just started taking Paxil yesterday.  Based on my symptoms is this something I should be on?

My symptoms include: exhaustion, needless worrying/anxiety, mood swings, muscle tension, loss of concentration, constipation, dry scalp, irritability.

I don't want to be on this forever.  I'm also in therapy (diagnosed with dysthemia) - about how long should I be on this?  I know it depends on the person but is 8-12 months a good time frame to shoot for?

I think that is a very good time frame to shoot for. Yes those are the symptoms that Paxil is usually used for.

I am 14 have ADD.  The Dexidrine that I take makes me slightyl depressed and so my doctor wants me to take Paxil starting at 20mg.  I understand that it can cause sexual side effects.  I was wondering if this means that it could possibly affect puberty.  I have looked all over the web to find the answer to this question.  I cannot find anyone else with this question.
Thanks
