Ativan question

by islandgirl1947, Feb 25, 2008 12:38PM
I have been taking Lorazepam  at a 0.5mg dose once a day for 6-7  years with no problems at all. But lately I have been reading some of the message boards and forums on the internet and it is very disturbing to  me, I am afraid that if I decide to go off the Lorazepam that I would have severe withdrawal problems.
I have never felt like I needed to take more than the prescribed dose and I  never gone up on it or taken extra.
I know alot of people post horror stories on the internet and I just want a doctor's opinion on if I would have a problem or not if I decide to come off it sometime in the future.
Thanks in advance,

At that level of medication you should not have any problem, but when you do decide to go off of it, do it slowly over a three week period.
