Daisy,
TSH(thyroid stimulating horomone), is the most sensitive screening test for thyroid disorders. T4 is a confirmatory test that is used if there is an abnormality with the TSH.
Serotonin, a neurotransmitter linked with depression, can be quatified by a blood test but it is not done in clinical practice since depression is readily recognized and we are not sure what specific serotonin levels mean. I suggest that you have a psychiatric evaluation to further clarify this issue. Good luck.
