Celexa and Biting

by M.W, Feb 22, 2000 12:00AM
I have been taking Celexa for about 2 weeks now and I have noticed that I have been biting down really hard for no reason.  I am even waking up from my sleep because of it and have bitten my tongue by doing it in my sleep.  Is this common?  Also, I have been very sleepy,  does this get better or do I need to switch medicine?

Dear M.W.

Celexa can cause drowsiness but it does get better after taking it for a few weeks. For information on Celexa and biting, please refer to the question (Celexa) posted on Feb. 21.

Sincerely

Hi!

I've taken Celexa and the jaw clenching/biting down should
subside,it did for me,I also felt nausea and had yawning
and that subsided with time also.Do you take it in the AM
or EVE? Maby if you took it at night that may help?

Good Luck! Don't give up :)

I had trouble with biting my left borner of my bottom lip.  As I became less stressed, I started doing it less.  I've had some problems with always having to do something with my hands (like playing with a pen, shuffling cards, etc.)
