Could this be anxiety or depression?

Starting in 2004 I started having health related anxiety due to GI probs that I was convinced portended something very seriously wrong with me because of excess drinking.  I was diagnosed with Gerd and IBS, but all the tests came out clean-Colon and esophagus scope, gallbladder, etc.

Last summer I continued to have me fears because of IBS symptoms, a positive fecal hemocult test(that later done turned out to be neg), and globus sensation in throat.  i eventually was put on reglan for 5 weeks in march for the globus and the heartburn, but when I quit it had weird pressure feeling in head and face, poor unrefreshing sleep.  one doctor told me I was going through with drawal

Hands hurt at times when sleeping, also my face and scalp feel funny all the time like some kind of weird pressure pressing down on both sides of my head in a vice, This has been going on since June.  Sleep disturbed with insomnia and poor sleep architecture as determined by a sleep study, but no apnea.  Sometimes at night I wake up with a strange buzzing in head.  Hard to describe.  I have been taking some ambien to sleep

A different doctor put my thyroid supplement, for what I feel are probably questionable numbers for a diagnosis.

Had a negative MRI last week that was clear.  I am obsessing daily about these physical symptoms.  Today my bp was 160/80 very high for me

Questions....

1.  do you think these physical symptoms could be anxiety or depression caused?

2.  Could the reglan have taken health related anxiety and turned it into a disorder that effects my sleep and causes these wierd head pains/pressures?

3.  What would you suggest at this point as far as a course of action?

Thanks,

gpuba

I would start treatment with a presumptive diagnosis of anxiety, so ask your doctor about klonopin or some other anti anxiety medication, try it, and see what happens in about ten days.
