I don't know where to begin....I have so many problems  it is multiple! I will tell you a little bit about myself...When I was younger I was made fun of, I have a very low self-esteem about myself, I hate myself...I have had annorexia (anorexia) and bulimia for about 13 years..I have been raped, abducted, emotionally and physically abused, I feel like I am as low to the dirt! I was married at the age of 17, now I am 28, I have 4 precious children. My husband and I have been split up so many times It is rediculous, but 2 years ago we renewed our vowels and gave our lives back to the lord! I have had panic attacks...so I underwent some test and everything was fine....Last year the panic attacks started I went to the doctors and they put me on paxil(which I had gained alot of weight)(45 pounds)From 120 now to 165.. and being bulimic I started to hate myself again..but I have been good and I have not gone through that terrible vicious cycle of throwing up or starving myself...I am NOW seeking help from a psychologist, my doctor then switched me to prozac, I have terrible thoughts of suicide, and I have attempted, but my husband stopped me!   My psychologist evaluated me and said I have severe depression, panic w/agoraphobia, post dramatic stress disorder, annorexia (anorexia), bulimia,I am so de-tached from everything , Am I going Crazy?   Am I going to have to be admitted to the hospital?  I can't take anymore stress!  I just want to die! I go next week to see a psychiatrist to evaluate my meds, I also just found out that I have Diabetes too!  I hate this...I feel horrible, I think ending my life would be so much easier! please someone help me! PLEASE?????

Dear Jennifer
You appear to be  suffering from severe depression and anxiety disorder/ eating disorder. Suicidal thoughts, especially with a plan need to be addressed immediately. If you think that you are losing control of yourself with a wish to die, it is important that you speak to your therapist about this or   call a crisis line or go to the nearest emergency room for immediate attention.

Serotonin-specific reuptake inhibitors (SSRI's) are antidepressants  that are considered to be the treatment of choice for depressive/anxiety disorders.  SSRI's such as Prozac, Paxil have been   shown to be effective in treating eating disorders specifically Bulimia.. Considering that you had undergone a lot  of pain since your childhood, it is important to have an ongoing therapy sessions to resolve these issues. I am glad that you scheduled to be seen by a psychiatrist. Keep your appointment. I wish you good luck. This information is provided for general educational purposes only and should not replace evaluation by a physician.

Jennifer,

Get to that psychiatrist and if he/she isn't for you look up another one through "Dr. Ivan's Depression Central" on the web. Click on "psychiatrists specializing in mood disorders". His List is of the leading experts in treating conditions like ours. If the listed docs are too far away from you call your nearest teaching Hospital and ask if they can put you through to the Psychiatry Floor or Clinic.

You are in crisis and need expert medical help. I have been where you are and got the help to put me on a more even keel. I pray you follow up on finding a good psychiatrist who specialises in mood-disorders.
