I recently began taking wellbutrin and effexor (August 07). In both cases I am taking the max. My hair is thining and I am loosing it. The good news is I feel great but I am concerned about the hair loss.

It the the doctor about 8 months to find the right drugs to treat the depression. My family has a history of depression. I was imipramine from 1981 to 2005. I stopped using it because it caused discoloration on my face. I didn't take any medication from June 2005 until Jan. 2007.

Please advise.

Hair loss is not a common side effect of these medications, but almost anything can be.  You will probably have to wean yourself off of one at time to find out if the medication is causing hair loss, or look for other causes of hair loss unrelated to these medications.
