Hello,
I am a 20 year old university student. I have had attention problems all my life, but have never been diagnosed or treated by a doctor. I have been living with other students that have ADD, and take drugs for their illness. They have been prescribed Ritalin and Dexadryl. I have tried both of these drugs (without a prescription of my own) and found that dexadryl was very helpful, where the Ritalin made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I feel that Dexadryl could be very helpful to me, but I am not sure about how to get it, or if its the proper drug. Also, I am concerned to tell my doctor that I have tried these drugs without a prescription. Do you have any suggestions about how to approach this situation.

Don't hesitate to tell you doctor...this happens all the time, it is nothing to be embarrassed about. He should be able to direct you to the right medication for you.
Just think if you dont tell him you may get the wrong type of drugs
