Onset Of Mania and Halluciations??

I am in the stage of hypomania with episodes of halluciations, feel like I am losing control. I have restarted on my Depakote to bring me back down.  I haven't mentioned it to my current doctors because they don't know about my history of bipolar type 2.  I just feel you are treated different when depression is known in your history.
I also have been on Prozac for along time for managing my depression stage.  Should I cut off the Prozac to help bring me out of the Manic phase?  I just want to come out of this manic episode without disruption in my work and home environment.
Thanks, Anne

Anne,
Your diagnosis of Bipolar II mandates that you be maintained on a mood-tabilizer(Depakote).  An antidepressant without a mood-stabilizer can make matters worse in regards to hypomania/mania.

I recommend that you discuss these issues further with your personal psychiatrist as soon as possible.  Keep in mind that this forum is for general educational purposes only and is not intended as a substitute for regular medical treatment by your personal physician.  Good luck.
Sincerely,
HFHS MD-JM
