Can Paxil be prescribed by my family physician (general practice), or would I need to consult a mental health specialist?

Drew,

Paxil may be prescribed by any qualified physician (M.D. or D.O.).  It is important to have a thorough psychiatric evaluation prior to initiation of treatment, as specific treatment is usually dictated by specific diagnosis.

I constantly analyze mentally everything I say
worrying that what I said was foolish.
I have to do scheduling in my job and feel the need to recopy everything from one date book to another plus computer anf pocket computer. The urge to change or buy new date books is almost impossible to deny.
Sometimes I feel deep anger or depression for no reason at all
these last from minutes to several hours
