The affects of Wellbutrin and Preg. Testing

by Jeanette, May 11, 2001 12:00AM
Hello.  I am hoping that you can help me.  I started Wellbutrin SR 150mg a day 2 weeks ago.  I had a Urine pregnancy test done today at our local planned parenthood, It came up negative but I still do feel pregnant.  Could wellbutrin have affected the results of the test?  My period isn't due for another 5 days, but it has been 15 days since a possible conception.  In which I was told that the test was very accurate and reliable.  It was only 2 days after my period had ended that would have been the possible conception, and I started wellbutrin the same day.  Any thoughts?  Thank You.

There should be no effect on the pregnancy test, but if you have any doubt you should contact your pharmacist, or the manufacturer of the test, or the makers of wellbutrin.
