Wellbutrin XL question

by jester76, Dec 27, 2007 11:46AM
Hi Doctor,

I have been on 300 mg of Wellbutrin for four and a half weeks with little to no results. I have read that 450 mg is usually the dose where you may see some results.

I certainly don't have full depression.........I have more low self esteem, social/general anxiety, and kind of a blah attitude about daily life and daily activities, I am VERY hard on myself.

From your professional experience do you think I should just stick with my klonopin for anxiety and drop the anti depressant, or give the 450mg a try?  (I have done CBT and seen therapists and I am a person who will need medication, at least klonopin, for the rest of my life)

Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks For Your Help!!!!!

Personally, I prefer the combination of klonopin and psychotherapy over all else unless there is extreme depression or mania. There is no reason to believe that wellbutrin at any dose will help you with your " hypercritical self"...that requires psychotherapy.
