alcohol and zoloft interaction

I'm wondering if anyone knows the truth about mixing alcohol and zoloft together. I have talked to many doctors and none of them indicate that it could do any permanent damage to you in any way. Doctors tell me that there is no way the drinking I have done (at times I have drank fairly heavily while on zoloft) has done anything permanent. I am wondering if anyone knows just what happens to your brain when you mix the two? Does it kill more brain cells than alcohol alone? I mean does drinking harm the person who is on zoloft more than someone who isn't on zoloft? Please help me find out the truth.

Thanks, Derek

I don't think there are any scientifc studies to answer that question.
